Hey check this shit out, people are suing The publishers of the Grand theft auto series. This just goes to show you that people will do anything for money. Why not sue the fuckin parents of the two kids. heres the link.

The Squirrels are your friend man!
What about people who play games, and dont go kill people? I played GTA religously, and I think I'm perfectly normal... (well on second thought...., yeah perfectly normal)
This is proof of how insane this country has become.
Sue everyone else for your mistakes, sue a company who makes a popular product because you are a worthless shit-head of a parent who couldn't properly raise a gerbil.
I bet they never once told their children "I love you"

Well "normal" is a relative term. j/kOriginally posted by REDO

The question that is always ignored in the media violence debate is "Why do people like it? Why would they play a violent game or watch a violent movie if they were so pure beforehand?" The very enjoyment of it indicates a predilection.
Dick Laurent is dead...
No it doesn't. people are able to allow themselves to enjoy it because they know it is FICTION, and know it is not hurting anyone.Originally posted by tMoD

What about Stephen King books, those can get a bit violent, does that mean people who read his books have a predisposition towards violence?
What about action movies, A LOT of people love action movies, people getting shot up, things blowing up, is this a forewarning of things to come from people who enjoy action movies?

I'm so sick and tired of reading stories like these where the blame is placed elsewhere when the parents or guardians are the ones responsible.
Sueing is not just the answer anymore, it's the American way.
LMFAO @ Psilaxs's location. I didn't notice that until now.
Yes, lets sue em,
and lets sue all of the producers that make movies with violence in em...
And all the tv shows
And lets sue athletes like boxers and kung-fu masters, caus they're violent too...
dumbasses
That's not what I meant- perhaps I didn't choose my words carefully enough. I am not saying that someone who engages in virtual violence or enjoys fictional violence will commit real world violence (I've had fun going on rampages in Vice City and have yet to kill anyone in the real world). What I'm saying is that aggression is already present in the individual and is not created by media. The media provides sublimation for already extant aggression. If the aggression wasn't already present they wouldn't derive enjoyment from it. People who believe violent media causes violence ignore this already present aggression and act like the media spawned it in previously "pure" individuals.

Couldn't agree more. People need to take responsibility, and that's the end of the story. Scapegoating is so dumb.
:devil (Cracks knuckles & stretches):devil
I am attempting to hold back my uncontrollable urge to go and kill. Surely this must be the case as I own 2 of these undoubtedly evil games. What a bunch of of Midwestern crap. :finger This takes precedence over anything RIAA related. The game was implicated. Freaking prove it! All I see is a total lack of parenting and an excuse to get season tickets at the Grand Ole Opry.
If this is true, the industry may as well go bankrupt. All industries for that matter. Everything has the potential to kill in one way or another. You don't see sexual predators' victims suing Hustler which may have influenced their unlawful behaviour. "Their games" are not what was doing this. If that were true, we'd be knee deep in blood this year due to how well GTA3 did last year. At worst, I may drive a little faster these days. But I sure as hell ain't aiming for old ladies and hookers. The ESA is on the right track. I may just sell my copy(s) if Rockstar & Take-Two lose this one. I won't support them if they're willing to bend over and take it. And who cares if they were rated "M?" What that says is those particular parents didn't instill the idea of "M"aturity into their "M"inors who "M"oronically decided to "M"imic the "M"ake-Believe world of Liberty City."The industry needs to cough up money so victims and their families can be compensated for their pain... The shareholders need to know what their games are doing to kids and their families. They need to stop pushing adult-rated products to kids. These products are deadly."
Do the crime, serve the time. Don't go and find a scapegoat for your filthy little angels. Oh wait there goes one now...:shoot
Can't wait to see what they blame ManHunt for. Better get the flak jackets out, Rockstar.

these parents probaly beat thier kids and dont care what they do, give a unstable child a game such as GTA then thts the parents fault-- remember you have to be 18 to buy these games, I was card'd when I bought GTA3, I was even card'd last week when I bought State of Emergency.
and if the kids got the game from P2P then still parents fault for not monitoring thier kids internet actions, my parents didnt even let me play Duck Hunt when I was 5, they took my Nintendo Gun away.
talkin about GTA
can somone point me to a download of Lil' joes Ultimate Trianer-- all I can find is tht rip off of Lil'joes trianer
the Vice City Trainer--
People need to get their fac ts straight.
Violent videogames do not make people violent if anything when i come home pissed mostly because of college teachers throwing massive ammounts of work at me i play games like vice city and counter strike.
The violence is humorous and does not hurt anyone.
Maybe if you'r iq is under 2 and you are a complete idiot and percieve virtual reality as reality then maybe you should go watch some super man shows and try to fly off your roof.
I bet you that the parents know of the video game, its hard for kids to dibby up 50 without parents knowing of it. Why not blame the T3 movie they took the kids to see earlier this year? Or Die Hard movies? They just know that you cant go against the movie industry, only recording and video game industry, IF THESE lawsuits arent thrown out of court, more will come out of the woodwork.
