A weird thing has happened to me twice now. Normally when I get disconnected and try to resume my download it does just fine. But twice now while I have been downloading files my computer has froze up. I had to manually shut it down. When I went back to try and resume my download from where I left off, it says the resume did not match.
I went to the folder where my file was and it said I had 14,155,776 bytes of it downloaded. When I double click the file to resume it, in my list of incomplete files it says the same thing for the file size, good. But when I hit OK to start the download it lists the file as even smaller, 14,150,776 bytes. And then I sit and wait all day in que, until it finally starts, compares the file to resume, and it tells me it does not match.
I don't understand why it's doing that. It's like my computer downloaded more while it froze up or something and somehow it's not reading it right? I have tried to manually resume the file too, and it still says it doesn't match. How can that be!? The files are the same size and even from the same person. I don't have any other files of it to mix it up with either, so I know it's right.
Any ideas on why it's doing that, and what I can do to be able to resume? I have one really big file 98% done, it took half a day to get it, and the comp froze right at the end! Ain't that just my luck!
I have MinWX Version 2.6. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
what you need to do is trim the end of the file. in version 3 you can do this buy right clicking on the file in the download screen and trim 2k from the file. with 2.6 you have to download something like jonesoft file splitter. then just trim the file. hope that helps

Thanks Slayde. I dowloaded Jonesoft File Splitter and tried that. I'm not really sure how to trim it correctly. I tried it, but it didn't look like I did it right. :mellow
ok. when you use jonesoft what it does is split the file into a bunch of little parts. delete the last little part and then restore the whole file together. that should do it. if not just use winmx 3. whatever and trim the end.

Thanks, I'll try that.
Thank you for your help Slayde. I figured out how to use it and trimmed the end. I got the file complete now! Thanks!
One more question.....now when I play the file in Windows Media Player, the total time for the video only goes up to where I split the file and resumed. The time continues to go up once it reaches that point, but there is no way for me to be able to fast forward the video any further past that. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
what you need to do is empty the file from the win media list of files. once win media does not have the file in list then try and play it again. this should work
