    To all college students.

Anyone on college campuses, here is an idea. Start up a club, we need a unified name for this club, so that everyone can recognize the name in the same way they recognize phi beta kappa or whatever.

So here is what my plan is, I think we should set up clubs accross all the college campuses which promote filesharing, we need a good name for it, so anyone with ideas for a name please post them.

The purpose of the club or clubs would be to help promote the sale of used CDs, and help set things up so people can sell used CDs to each other on campus in a very legit way, in the same way we sell used books.

Also members of the club should join in protests, be it naiton wide, or local, they should explain to normal people why P2P is so important and why the RIAA must be removed.

we have http://www.downhillbattle.org downhillbattle.org/ who are making flyiers, I think we should start a whole grassroots movement in the same way Howard Dean is starting a political movement.

Who is with me on this?

By the way I'm talking about organized, meaning a website which all the college clubs in the country can connect to for news/ planning etc. Like Deans blog.

We got better things in this world to protest about. OK?

File sharing is here to stay, no matter what. We don't need to waste time forming a movement for something most net surfing people like to do. It's all gonna settle itself just fine. Its like when drugs hit in America, many people do it, and like it. And this is happening around the world. You can't fight the future. This "movement" would be a drop in the ocean.

And if it didn't, lets just say hypothetically, it wouldn't matter if file sharing was "illegal." We'd still do it.

    Interesting Idea

Why don't you just set up a short term lending library. You could also give away instructions/links to freeware Ripping software. Taking the whole file sharing thing off of the net is an interesting twist. It also has the advantage of being completely legal, for the sharer.

I vote for calling it, "Music Sharing Is Fun and Legal."
