Hello. I currently have my printer hooked up on a PC, and I need to know how to network this PC, and Laptop to be able to print from the printer. I had it at one time, by right clicking on My Computer, and clicking Map Network Drive. But I can't remember anymore.
All computers are running Windows XP. Thanks for any help in advance.
(by the way, the PC with the printer is set to share the printer, but I still can't figure it out from there)

Since its inception almost 30 years ago, the internet has been transformed from a primitive device for sharing thoughts and ideas, into a massive network where people pay to connect and read advertisements they don't want, while calling each other "asshats".
You should be able to go to control panels and select the printers option then right mouse click and select sharing. It will walk you through the steps needed via the network wizard. Have a floppy ready at some point it should ask you if you want to make a floppy to transfer the setup to other computers. Choose yes! Then run the wizard on other computers. Then after all is said and done it should work! By the way how are you connecting these computers together? Router, what?

I see what you were saying about the mapping drive option but I believe that my way does the same thing. It does allow you to setup sharing without the wizard but it cries about internet security if you do. I would try the wiz first and then fall back to the basic option.

you have to share the like notbob said. Then go add printer on your machine. Choose network printer, and type in \\workgroup\computername into the textbox.
Okay, I shared the printer, named it as hpprinter. And I went over to the other computers to look for it and it didn't work.
This is how my computers are setup.
My computers are connected through a linksys router, and the router is connected to my main PC.
The main PC does NOT have the printer on it. Nor does the laptop. It's the 2nd PC out in the living room that has the printer.
I have firewalls enabled on laptop, and main PC. I took the firewall off the 2nd PC to see if that would help. (haven't tried it yet)
does this help at all on what else I could try?

This is why I mentioned the wizard. Run it and get a disk to tranfer all the setups to the other systems. See if that works. It sounds like you realy haven't added it to the rest of the network. So in that case you need workgroup name, etc. The wiz should help you out. Just my opinion.
