Mirc, the life of a server, how do you feel about it?

::takes sip of water and sits down on comfy plush executive chair::
Now, we all hate the common leech, correct? We all wunt new was to kill em, rape em, make they're life a living hell. But what about Mirc? It should be called Leech, cause thats all its based around. How do you all feel about getting leeched 24/7 (i kno i run a server also :D). Ppl get on, rape ur bandwidth, get off simple right? well, i kno wut u thinkin
"Those stupid f%cks, givin away all there tyme so we can get stuffs".
the question at hand is, would you do it?
In most of those serving channels theres a little thing behind the walls we all like to call distro....Unlimited access to 'Whatever' we want at n'sane speeds ,all working, no bs.No p2p basics, all it is is Some d00d to some other d00d 1 way no return. How do you feel about it?

I don't bother with mIRC for files. I do not like the disconnects, slow speeds, and no resuming.

That and i have never had access to a distro server where i could get whatever i wanted at insane speeds. I'll stick with overnet KaZaA Lite and occasionally, news groups.

NO RESUMING??? first all you can RESUME, if the file exist it ask if you want to copy over, rename or resume.. And for LEECHING< you can fix your script if you have the one i have, to only serve OPS and voices.. STICK To kazaa lite if you want a lawsuit, and albums that has certain tracks at 192kbs, and some songs at 128 with loops, fakes and bad ripps..
MIRC is awesome for the most complete album listings, all byte rate, they have people on their that list the ablum as Advance, which is downloaded, or retail so its something they bought and put on the net.
I believe it gets dis cause no one takes the time or patience to learn it and to install a serving script.
Everyone on their i downloaded has T1, cable, dsl, or even faster connections.. I put their names on notify list if i like their media content and get fast downloads from. It beats jumping to five different file sharing program to get what you want.

someone said it before here IRC is like gourmet food compared to kazaas fast food irc is where i get max speed on d/l one file and i have no problem resuming although i rarely need to resume as the bots rarely fail to send the whole file
the downside to irc is its not as quick to set up as kazaalite etc but a little bit of patience pays big dividends

Same thing. mIRC is just a program that accesses the IRC network/servers.

But, i will still stick to Overnet for games, or full albums. News Groups for rare/ specialty items, and KaZaA Lite for old music.
