Any way to rip Real streams from a website?

Does anybody know of any way (or any program that can be used) to rip Real or Windows Media (preferably Real) format streams from a website? I would like to save some to my computer in order to access them without having to stream them over a modem at home. I've seen lots of programs for Shoutcast stream ripping, but nothing like this so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do a search for Streambox VCR, that'll do the job.
    Currently using:
    Foobar2000 0.72
    NewsBin Pro 4.2
    eMule
    DC++
    SoulSeek
    Power-Post 2000
    Exact Audio Copy + Monkey's Audio 3.97
    Ultratagger 2.2

try one of the following programmes:

    ASFRecorder
    HiDownload
    SDP
    Stream Down
    StreamBox!VCR 1.0 Beta 3.1

these are all tools for MMS/RTSP etc. capturing. some of them work with one format, but not with the other and vice versa. the trick is to have them all and to try them all with every link until one of them manages to download the file (actually .HiDownload failed every single time to download anything when I tried it; but the others are ok and often work).

to find the location of the file use a sniffer like HttpWatch or EffeTech HTTP Sniffer or URL Snooper (or Sniff'em / CommView sniffers if you want professional sniffers)

I have a program that rips Windows media from a site. It's called ASFRecorder. It rips the whole video. I havne't used it in a while so i can't remember if you can save just audio. I guess if it was just an audio stream you would get an asf file as audio only since there's no video to record. it can be found at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/asfrecorder/

You can also try Wisecroft Ripper 2, which now rips Real Audio files to mp3 format. http://www.wisecroft.com I'm not sure if that works for streaming files or not.

Your best bet is actually to download Total Recorder. You should be able to get a full version via p2p (it's where i got mine!) Total recorder will record what plays out on your speakers. The website for Total Recorder is http://www.highcriteria.com Its also good for recording copy protected cd's (that we own the rights to of course) Hah.

    Hope this helps you man.

    here's 2 more I haven't seen mentioned

This ones new and sounds promissing already, though it needs work. Try it.
    VRtainment CapturePad
    Version 0.1beta
    http://www.vrtainment.com

Then there is WM Recorder 7.0 or WM Recorder 8.0
For Windows Media video and audio streams this one works well. I like the older version 70, over 80, just because it worked it for me right off, from the jump. The new 80 hasn't worked yet, for me. All though I haven't tried but once yet.:bk
