My all-time favorites are chess, checkers and backgammon, because they can be improvised and played virtually anywhere, and the rules are simple enough to explain to people, even if they don't speak your language. I have played all three all over the world, from the spider and mosquito infested jungles of Grenada to the arid mountain steppes of Turkey.
Favorite COMPUTER game. Well, I spent more TIME playing EverQuest than any other computer game ever, from beta 3, prior to its initial release, and for several years after. So I guess that would be my favorite computer game, but its time has come and gone.
Tetris.
