cant play movies(kazaa)

can somebody help me,my problem is that i cant seem to get the movies i download to [play from kazaa,te picture stalls its like looking at a power point presentation only with clear streaming sound, how can i get my movies to play continously?:cross :mellow :fire

maybe you dont have all of the codecs installed properly or at all for that matter. Try downloading the k-lite codec pack and try again.

these are the things you chould look for....

codec updates like the man said. probably best done from the windows media player website

update the windows media player to 9 or what ever the latest greatest is

install a different media player and play the video file from outside kazaa

directX update (from microsoft too)

new / correct video card drivers from the card's manufacturer. and check it's properly installed

get a better vid card &/or PC

What kind of system do you have, P4? P2? Flintstones? What O/S do you have? How much ram?

Did you reboot before you tried it?

Are you aware that the movie is 100% fragmented, and that you need to defrag or burn to CD for better performance?

Are you aware that you should have DMA enabled in Device Manager?

Are you trying to play the move with Kazaa running? Are you trying to preview it while it is downloading?

You need to be very specific here if you dont want people to "guess at you"

STOP, stop everything, and get your system properly configured, AND then add codecs a few at a time, just what you need, not ALL of them.

If you have completed movies, Dont launch them from Kazaa, move them to another drive or folder, and play them with WMP, and nothing else running.

make sure you have divx, especially for avi's.

Did you even read the posts?


Yes, you need a Divx codec, which you can get in the Klite codec pack, or, the Nimo pack, which I advise. And you may STILL need to get the FFDShow Alpha filter . . . we we will give you the linls to them as you need them.

All the codecs in the world will not compensate for crappy performace due to other things.

If you have installed the DivX 5 by itself, you did exactly what I didnt want you to do, see one piece of advice and run with it. STOP, answer a few questions, and go slowly, or you will end up UNINSTALLING IT ALL and starting over again.
