    WinMx Messages

I'm having intermittant, ongoing problems with receiving and sending messages. Even when someone is looking for what I send, they are returned without having been viewed. And I frequently am not receiving messages from others. They often resort to contact by email. What is the problem and what is the solution?

Somewhere in settings there is a option that u can set to accept all messages, by default it is set to only accept messages from people in ur hotlist.

Thanks for the heads up about the restricting box, however I wish the answer were that simple. I know the area under settings and I'm open to all messages. And the problem is continuing. Is anyone else having the same problem?

I think I know what you mean. More and more I get errors that say can't be sent , remote server not responding??? Doesn't make sense when that person is d/l from you. If it's a server problem, wouldn't the d/l disconnect also?

    Re: WinMx Messages

Muff, none of this makes sense to me. I've even wondered if it could be a temporary lose of power because I'm a secondary connection. I know that really makes no sense, but I'm almost at my wits end. While I'm working with someone on his upload or trade using messaging, I suddenly can't communicate and he thinks I've just left him hanging. If I keep trying long enough, sometimes it kicks in, the message is sent and received. Is it that the site is becoming overburdened with seconday connections, because we've had to switch from primary? Is the system becoming top-heavy because of its poularity and difficulty working with the primary? If so, added to the ridiculously long queue lines, I may consider shopping for a different p2p. Still looking for an answer.

I wondered if it had to do with secondary connections as well. I'm on primary but perhaps the user I was trying to send a message to was on secondary. I love WinMX and even with all the bugs, I can't find a better program for me. I just hope someone at WinMX looks at these forums to understand what needs to be fixed. I can't wait for an update!!!!!!!!!
