Help! POPUP Attack Every 30seconds! I'm Being Attacked!

Okay the title is a little overexageraded (spelled that wrong)

Anyways, I am having a problem! I get a popupS every minute. Sometimes it's 3/minute. Sometimes it's 5/30seconds! I'm not running any programs that put off popups such as p2p programs. Every program is closed but my browser and maybe windows media 9 playing music.

I have run adaware deleted the stuff it detected and it still doesn't work!

I am running a popup blocker, and everytime it blocks a popup it makes a short noise. And anyways about 8 or 9 popups came like within 1/2 second of each other and I thought I was getting shot at! (I accidently left my speakers on loud after listening to music!)

I need to get help with these popups, I cannot get shot at anymore by my computer (LoL :mellow )

    WAIT!

Wait, after I posted I ran a Ctrl+Alt+Delete, and I clicked Processes since I'm on windows xp and there are like 25 IEEXPLORE.EXE open! I'm guessing these must be the popups, but they don't show anywhere on the screen since I closed them.

What in the hell is going on?

I could be wrong, but I bet you its the messenger service in XP

Go to start > run, then type in servics.msc

Find the messenger service, go to properties, and from the drop down list, select "disabled"

I would suggest going in and del all cookies and temp internet files. Also go into Program files and check them all making sure there are no unusual programs that werent there before.
    P2P is cool....But P3P.. Oh boy!!

Ahh, you might have gotten an endless loop because of a java exploit, I got that one time, norton caught it, but I tried it again without norton....it gave me popups till my ram filled up and my computer froze.

Is it still doing it? Just reboot. If it does it after that, do a virus scan, spybot scan, and possibly a good trojan scanner. Also if you have a firewall, watch it, see if something is talking back.

Okay well I ran Window Washer, I haven't run it for about a week and it deleted 455.1MB of junk off my computer. Hopefully some popup crap was included in that deletion.

Cydor - I have a popup blocker! But I can't just use that, because everytime a popup blocker comes it stores it on the ram or something and once it's full my computer will freeze!!!

not-bob how do you do the disable active scripting?
