Though I would be more impressed if the mainstream news press covered the protest.

FIGHT THE POWER
Wow, lets riot, cause that changes things soooo much. Unless this is mainstream news, these people are wasting time. They have reach zeropaid with their message, jesus, that was productive. I suppose I must commend the effort, but we need more support, and richer support mahaps?
How's about them apples?

I hope that the mainstream media will take more note of the protests already planned against the RIAA and I believe that the momemtum will continue to grow against the RIAA. They are polarizing millions of music lovers world wide who are totally sick and disgusted with their strong-arm nazi tactics.
What we should do is alert the media to what the RIAA is doing in every way possible to get their attention. Some ideas (and I welcome further ideas by the community here) are :
1. Organize a protest rally in your area if there isn't one already.
2. Write letters to the local newspaper
3. Write letters to various magazines ie time and newsweek and get their attention (Time Canada or McLeans for Canada)
4. Write or E-Mail letters to media organizations like CNN , NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox (in Canada contact CBC, Global, CTV)
5. Contact your political reps and complain about what the RIAA is doing .
6. Tell everyone you know in every way possible about what is happening with the RIAA
7. Spread the word across the internet. I am certain that many people here belong to other forums, mailing lists, fan organizations etc. Tell everyone there (if you are allowed to what kind of insanity the RIAA) is promoting .
8. Promote a boycott in your area of all music stores that sell RIAA sponsored artists.
These are just some ideas and I would like to hear what other people can come up with. With the millions of file sharers out there together with the power of the internet and mass media, we should be able to get the word out and mobilize public opinion in Canada, USA , Europe and the rest of the world about what these scumballs are proposing.
Death to the RIAA slime . !!!!!!!
But despite the RIAA's attacks on downloaders in the US, there is unlikely to be much effect on other countries where file sharing is also common.
According to Rosso, the successful launch of a paid-for edition of the Grokster software shows just how little impact the RIAA's legal moves will have globally.
"The software is selling like hot cakes, including in the US; but most of our downloads come from London, England," he added.
I liked those last paragraphs best

Wouldn't it be cool if we could get Google to post a "boycott the RIAA" image on their site? Think about the visibility!
It would be good, but Im pretty sure that google would say no.:holeOriginally posted by inflikted_damage

Without a doubt. Just a thought though.
Half my friends didn't even know about this legal crap with the RIAA,people share on kazaa not because their standing up because half don't know. Writing to the newspaper is a great way. It'll inspire a weider level of young people. Also at the Black Festival in Seattle we passed out anti RIAA flyers i assume something over a thousand. And black people like free stuff. I encourage you. Come on Every where you go their is the guy with the JESUS sign, if he isn't made fun of that bad then representing the fight against the RIAA won't kll you. I support anyone who needs it. p2p army rise
Hi there I am on the other side of the atlantic and I would come and protest on against the RIAA but I am in Europe. Lets get the emails going people and use the power of the internet to really get everyone up to speed on what is going on here. Send emails to your friends telling them about the RIAA and its crazy rules. Has anyone heard of any protests in Europe, well guess what I am going to organize one in support of my US friends.
