The RIAA is in the beginning stages of a campaign to stamp out music piracy by bringing civil lawsuits against consumers. This article discusses how P2P software works, flaws in the RIAAs method of tracking users, and outlines scenarios in which the RIAA can misidentifiy copyright violators. This misidentification can cause financial damage to innocent victims.
This has been discussed ad nauseum and we really don't need another thread discussing this. I'm cutting you some slack this time because the search functions have been down but I am closing this thread. If you want to post on this, I suggest using one of the several opens threads that this forum already has going. You should have no troubles finding these with the search now working.
