Today I finally decided to clean my computer mouse. Well I did the whole remove the ring thing and clean the rollers, but then (and I've always done this) I removed the screw and put it [the mouse] into it's 2 main sections, well today was different because for the first time ever the scroll wheel ended up falling out, I managed to put it back in but now it doesn't make the little clicking noise when you use it. I've looked high and low over the internet but have been unsuccesful in trying to find a guide on how to build your own computer mouse, thinking that perhaps it would show me the right way of putting the wheel back in. So I was just wondering if anyone here perhaps knew of any sites that explained this, or even how to make it make the clicking noise again. Thanks!
WHY did you take it apart?? Just clean the rollers, hit it with some compressed air at most.
As for the mouse....what brand and model number? Most companys make their mouses different.

Well probably get a new part to make the clicking noise. And why are you still using the ball mouses? I think it is time to upgrade your mouse to optical. I have a Microsoft Optical wireless mouse. and I love it. and now their only $20 at best buy after a mail in rebate.

WHY? Because I'm a freaky cleaner, when I clean something I like to clean EVERY part of it. I'm not sure who made the mouse, I purchased it at Wal-Mart, as for the model number it's VG-BAMO-820Originally posted by phalkon30

And PowerMan57Two, I OPPOSE THE OPTICAL MOUSE!!! hahaha. No, but seriously, I wont use an optical mouse unless it's the only mouse withen a 1 kilometer radius (don't ask why I'm against them because it's a looooooooooong story).
sucks that you dont like optical mice.
well, my only suggestion is really that when you clean the mouse, just be real careful.
i mean, common sense, but more careful, since you aren't opening something that doesnt need to be opened... ya know what i mean?

Well, to each his own I guess........
Thats the first time google hasn't brought me info on a model number, any other numbers on it? any info at all.
If it bothers you that much, you might be better off getting a 5 buck mouse and being done with it. Since you said it was a no name walmart thing, you're not throwing away too much money.

I'll tell you one thing though, optical mice eat double A batteries.
You can't triple stamp a double stamp.
That's why I have the Logitech Mx700 that sits on its charging cradle. I have an Energizer battery charger that keeps 4 extra Energizer NiMH batteries for my KB or other devices.Originally posted by Ken17625

I prefer the classic annoying mouses... Classic is better...
My microsoft wireless mouse doesn't have a rechargable base thing. And yes it takes batteries, but I don't go through them very often. Maybe once every 3-4months. It seems like a long time to me, but i just had to change the batteries like 1 week ago. And I got it all the way back in like AprilOriginally posted by Ken17625

Ultra-precise and ergonomic. The ultimate gaming and surfin' mouse.
2 Hours charge gets you 12 hours of heavy use.
(Though I still sometimes forget to put it back in the cradle to charge.)
