Question Average running time for emule/edonkey?

I find that I usually get my download within a 24 to 42 hour time frame.

On average how long have you kept emule running?

I've been sitting on a few files off sharereactor and some other popular sites for over a month....of course it doesn't help that I'm behind a NAT and can't accept incoming connections.

    Hmm...

I generally do three to four days. I can download about anything I want in that space, and by then I'm generally wanting to completely upset my system with something drastically different. I just can't leave my system alone for any longer period of time. I believe FreeBSD will be my next endeavor. After a new case and new hard-drive.

Out of curiosity, why do you need to reboot your computer everynight? Are you running Windows ME or something? (Most unstable OS ever in my opinion.)

I usually get my files within 12 hours. I set it to download around 8 or 9 at night, then in the morning at around 7 or 8 it completes. This is *most* of the time. However, other times, I've waiting up to hours upon hours, even 3 months once for a file.

no it really did. of course i didn't have edonkey running for a month straight. but it all equaled a month over about a 3-5 months span.

I leave mine running 24\7, but it usualy only takes about 7-8 hours form most things. But some, like others, have taken me days to months to get.

I Have left (insert every program that runs on that network) E-mule/E Donkey running for over a month and never got 1 G__DAMNED file from it, ever. Nothing ever completes.

Even when i was on router-less DSL.

Such a crap network with so much great content, a shame really.

Well I just downloaded emule again last night and it stayed on the whole time while I downloaded a cd. But guess what when it was complete it deleted the file. I cannot find it anywhere on my pc. what a dumb program, lol. I even specified where I wanted to download it to. and i even tried the search box on the computer, still nothing.

But emule stayed on the whole time

Back when I first came to ZP I hated edonkey network. Could never get anything to complete etc.

Then I found I file I needed to have and tried and I got it and never turned back. I download over 60 complete cds a week.

I only download full albums and I am a music fanatic so if you cannot relate that's cool. I have a vast range of likes so I always find stuff I like and when I don't I download other stuff. lol

I got a que o20-30 at a time and each day 10 or so complete.

I do use other apps but not like I need ot want to very much.

    I got it running 24/7

emule is not simple but its not impossible either. I can try and help someone if they really cannot get it going. Well at least try as I am amazed when I read that it doesn't work for some folks.

Do you think you could help someone behind a crappy router, with a ridiculously slow upload speed=(always have a bad share rating) and has already tried DMZ settings with said router??

    If so, great. lol
