how does this E donkey work?

Hi;

I am new to E donkey, and trying to understand how this thing work,
kazaa is very straight forward, is there any online instruction about how to use this, help on edonkey was not much help.

how do you search, do you have to click on one of the link on the server list and wait to be connected then do the search, or does the search do the search on all the links,

how do you use updater, I have downloaded a updater called: Bier Baron Ver 1.2. so when it brings you some links, how do you bring them to edonkey? or if it does it automatically?
