i started using shareaza a few days ago...i love it...but i noticed one thing...all the morpheusOS clients never have many hosts...i'm requesting a feature to only connect to hosts with a specified amount of hosts...i hope that makes sense.

makes plenty sense.
Amen....:mellow
Yep I agree also!:tol
The idea isn't good long term, since it's very egocentric. Short term it might sound good, but the network wouldn't stay harmonious and "healthy" for long. It would also be hard to become a new Ultrapeer, becasue no one would connect to you. An example. I've got 250 leafs but have to reboot..I'm back and no one will connect to me :(Originally posted by cpugeniusmv

I think a better solution would be to expand the security feature to allow you not to connect to hosts with the tag "MorpheusOS" or whatever you specify. I've noticed it being Morpheus that always has 1-5 hosts connected. I think it's Musiccity's attempt to lure people to use their software, because their software doesn't use up the whole connection on "leafs". This, of course, destroys the network..Another egocentric attitude.

The best option at the moment is, if you don't like the Morpheus host, right click it and select "ban this host".
Phil.
phil: yea, but wouldn't just selecting 'ban host' only stop that one person? i like the idea tho, of being able to block morpheus ppl.
No I believe if you use the neighbours window and right click you actually ban the ultrapeer, I haven't tried it but the option appears to be in the right click menu.
Phil.
banning the user only bans one ip address, lets say that ip address gets shareaza, and it's still banned....well, too bad.
lets say they don't have a static ip address, they just keep coming back. and blocking all morpheus users would just be wrong. the only solution that would be good for everyone would be for the morpheus programmers to allow for more users. but i don't see this happening.

OK, try this; Tools/Options/Sharing/Upload Serving add " MorpheusOS, MorpheusPE 1 "
This appears to work, if you're serious about banning Morpheus.
Cheers,
Phil.
i tried it, didn't work
