    Superman

Yeah, so another Superman movie has been in the works for about 2 years now.
Among the people discussed to play Supes were Nic Cage, Josh Hartnett, Ashton Kutcher, Brendan Fraser, and David Duchovny.
So just cause I am bored, I will pose this question to you:
    Who should play Superman?
    And even more importantly:
    Who should play Lois?

Unless it's going to be a comedy (I pray not) they shouldn't use any of them, especially Ashton Kutcher *shudders*. He's the backstreet boy of TV. I'd have Ben Affleck before a screwball like him.

I'd like to see Brent Spiner (yeah yeah) play Superman. He's the greatest.

They should take the same route they did the 1st time and go with an unknown. The only one out of that group you mentioned that wanted the role was Cage. Hartnett and Kutcher turned it down because of typecasting fears and I seem to remember that Fraser was afraid of the Superman curse. If they are going to go with an established name they should probably go after Tom Welling from Smallville as he is most associated with the character at this point. But knowing Warner they'll probably do something stupid and recast Dean Cain in the role as a 5'10" man of steel.(LOL they have him listed as 6' on a biopage but I have a hard time believing that.)

As for Lois Lane I have no idea; hopefully someone that can act this time as I thought Margot Kidder made me cringe.

I think they should go for a completely different angle, and make it a bit more politically correct by using the talents of Gary Coleman as Superman.

I think they were also considering that guy who plays Clark in Smallville, that might work

Yeah that's Tom Welling. He seems to be the logical choice because from what I understand they're redoing the beginning of the story as opposed to just continuing the movie series and he could pull off a new superman just startig off. Dean Cain is too short and can't act his way out of a paper bag. Another choice would be using Gerard Christopher who played Superboy in the 90's series. He's probably a bit old for the part now but the years have been kind to him and makeup could fix any other problems.

I think Tom Welling would be the most marketable choice, chicks dig him, and he's not that bad of an actor

Hmmm? If they're going for that 50's style I'd go for her and the dude from Smallville. The 'hosers' would love that! LOL

Edit: Oh yeah....be a perfect fit IMHO. http://www.pvv.ntnu.no/~madsb/jc/ima...enomena_05.jpg

    How about Mark Hammil?

    I'm sure he's not busy.

Personally I think Cage is getting a bit on the old side to pull off Superman. Unless he wears tupe (better duct tape that for the flying scenes) who want's a Superman with a receeding hairline? Isn't he suppose to immortal or something?

Dean Cain (the guy in Lois and Clark) was pretty good acting the 50's, boy scout Superman role but that has been so over done.

Personally, I want see a more modern kick-ass Superman who would dump boyscout attitude and hair-cut.

As for Lois I gotta agree Jennifer Connelly is defiantely a top choice.

I think Josh Hartnett wouyld be a great choice for Superman and my choice for Lois is someone who already is a reporter on her own show- Charrmed- namely- Alyssa Milano. I think she would make a great Lois Lane. You might even say she would be bewitching in the role . (bad pun I know)
