    Advice Please!

    Hello All,

    After stumbling across this site by accident, i was wondering if anyone could help me, as you appear to know what your going on about. whereas me, i haven't the foggiest!!!

    I have just had my computer re-formatted and more memory put in as my computer was very "ill". this cost me money and so i am quite wary about programs etc to download. I have a feeling it was kazaa (original) that caused my computer to go a bit doolally and so i don't want to risk it again.

    So, is Kazaa Lite safer? (please bear in mind i'm a bit thick when it comes to computers etc)I don't want hackers on my pc, but obviously i want to download music now i've had broadband fitted.

    Is it worth downloading and what are the main differences.

    Yes. k-lite is safe. The most important differences are the unlimited search more and no spyware. Read about it here

    Clean Imesh is out, it should be safe, I use K-Lite, no problems here, Shareaza seems fine aswell. Maybe I'm just lucky. But as above, the unlimited search is the main reason that would switch, spyware isn't of a huge concern to me (So they watch what I do, atleast they are sending me ad's that I like now days).

    That's fantastic. I have downloaded Shreaza, but for some reason i can't connect. Just says that it's connecting for ages and ages. Any idea's?

    Do you use a firewall?

    You might have the xp firewall turned on?!

    Ah!. So how do i turn my firewall off? I do have ZoneAlarm which asks me if i want to access it, which i assume is ok. P.S., have now downloaded kazaalite, but couldn't find the screen that you download from, so all i have is the player. So. now i have piolet.

    3rd time lucky eh? TOld you i'm a bit thick!

    I have now downloaded the CORRECT kazaa software. And i'm now downloading! Many thanks for you help, and i shall pop in from time to time now that i know you are here!!!
