    Trouble connecting to win update

    I don't know what triggered this.......Any ideas? Much appreciated......I mean I checked the obvious......hosts file, restricted sites under internet options, ad hunter......

    Same thing happened to me today.I turned off my firewall and then it worked.Thats never happened to me before.

    Uh-huh . . . you guys starting to glue the peices together here yet?

    Ever wonder why your firewall asks if Generic Host Processes or the NT Kernal can connect to microsoft? You block these, and they cant blab to Microsoft.

    Why in the world are you going to a windows update site anyways? If you need SP1 or other patches, get them from somewhere else.

    Yeah, MyIE2 is a shell extension of IE, but it does work. I just tried it.

    Yeah, stupid me........I recently configured my firewall to block the Generic Host Process.....all fixed now, thanks.
