Why does file sharing programs put spyware on there programs anyone that knows about spyware won't download the program and that is alot of people so programs like kazaa:why does they put spyware on there program something like kazaa light will come and rip it off and take off spyware then kazaa will lose users so really I don't get it
meh
Actually, people do use "spyware" supported clients.... Programs such as KaZaA or Grokster have a majority of its users running "adware" clients. KaZaA, for example, has had over 100 million downloads so far, and probably 99.99 million of those clients are adware supported. Maybe a couple hundred thousand are using "KaZaA Lite" or " clean iMesh". From the developers I've spoken to, adware supported clients are sucessful, with about 3% of the users clicking away on banners....while that number may seem like a small value, 3% of 100 million equals big bucks....
I think some people don't care, because they see that it is free. Others may don't know what it is. And some overlook it, because they don't understand it.
well here i am a file shering newbie, did not nkow enything about p2p and i dl the original kazaa i wes so happy with it, then one day after a week or so my CP wes going crazy, evry time i open kazaa my CP will crash i did not nkow enything about SPYWARE tell i read a users opinions on a download.com. then i found out about kazaalite thank you god ther are good people on this world that give us a SPYWARE_FREE_P2P. and my CP dos not crash no more and i have no pop ads at all

They want money, and could care less about anything else. So they put advertising in their program. Simple as that: The ads give them money, what they wanted in the first place.
Why not get a good job and make the client in your spare time cuz that's ridiculous!

Spyware/Adware just sucks plain and simple.
They have a right to make money. It costs money to run servers! And I see ads on this very page, too. Areyou gonna flame Zeropaid for being greedy bastards too??? And I'd like to see you launch a new p2p network that you worked on in your spare time and have it be as good and popular as Kaazaa or Grokster! Not everyone is as talented as Shawn Fanning...Originally posted by Sarevok

Besides, do you think that their ad revnue even compares to the money made by recording companies?
Banner ads are Ok because you can choose not to click on them. That is less intrusive than commercials on TV! pop-ups get annoying in numbers, but a few are ok.
I only start to get annoyed when the start using spyware to track my surfing habits, etc. They say it is to let them tailor ads to me so that I get ones that I am more likely to be interested in. This is actually not a very bad idea except that it would take very little effort for this software to be modifed to say check all the software on my computer to make sure all my licence and CD keys etc. are all valid. Or for the RIAA to make sure I only have my original work for MP3s on my hard drive and not copyrighted music.
The list aof abuses goes on, so I just don't allow it, and "fixed" my grokster. All I get is an occasional pop-up (whenever I have my pop-up stopper software off for some reason).

Ever since I found out you could block ads from coming in using pop-up killers and the hosts list I've been doing it. Same goes for spyware killers. Ads and spyware are just another way of big companies trying to get inside your house to push crap you don't want or need. Seriously, have you ever seen an internet ad that made you say, "Wow! Gotta check that out!" It's all junk. Advertising on the net is a half a step away from an infomercial. The only thing I've ever bought off the net was my pop-up killing software oddly enough. Also, a trend almost as lame as the ads/spyware is the fact that you have to sign up for almost everything you do on the net. Mosts sites won't even offer decent conent without trying to sign you up for some lame mailing list. The internet is supposed to be about the FREE exchange of ideas. Keyword being FREE. Keep yours ads and keep your crap.

Thats strange,
I don't see any advertisements on zeropaid. Gnagnagna... hehehe.... Ever heard of the supertrick? Just edit the hosts file and voila. www.k-lite.tk for more info.
Alot of people are "scared" or annoyed that spyware/adware/etc are installed in these p2p file sharing apps. But these companies have to find a way to make money and support. So thats their answer.
