    I dont think you can blame the Senator for unlicensed software.

    Really does not matter if Hatch knew anything (most likely didn't know what the software even did) about it or it was the IT guy's fault. When you make a bold statement in media for or against something and then get caught with your pants down the public blame falls on the spokesperson (no nessarily legal blame) and ruins thier credibility.

    On the other hand its not like this story is running in national media and most non-tech ppl won't probably get the implecations anyway. i don't see too big of a a scandel forming around Hatch over this issue.

    They'll probably pay off the software guys and get on with thier ant-p2p crusade.
