Right now I can only get four people to download from me at one time with emule. My upload speed is set at 10 Kb/s.
Is there a way to open more download slots?
why would you want to that would make your downloads even slower,.....

I just want the opportunity for the users to download instead of being in queue.Originally posted by Kyle06

Besides the speeds for emule is slow in the first place.
thought about the fact that you upload files from your uploadspeed? and you download from your downloadspeed? that means that the number of uploadslots doesnt affect your downloadspped, just upload.
What? What are you talking about?Originally posted by ozamosi

My download speed is set around 100 Kb/sec and my upload speed is set around 10 Kb/sec.

Obtain emule source code, obtain C compiler, change number of slots in the source, compile emule, run.
The optimum number of slots is a matter of endless debate.
Four slots with 10KB/sec up is a good number. The ed2k network is for people who stay connected for a long time, you are still doing the same amount up so over days more slots has no advantage and the disadvantages are TCP overhead, slower spread of chunks, more people on 2 hours cutoffs being dropped in the middle of chunks.
Yes, I think so too
4 uploads slots for EMULE and EMULE ONLY with 10KB/s upload is good
Anywhere else.. I think that would be too much
I think 4 is right as rain, I had 10k in upload before and had 4 slots, then I uped it to 15, and got 5, and now im running 20 and I have 8 slots. Each getting 2.5kb/s another slot would not help those 600 people in queue.

I have to agree on that . The speeds on emule suck no matter what server you connect to. I cannot get more than 5KB/sec and i'm on satellite! these people on emule suck with their slow connections, they should have something like dc has where only high speed people can enterOriginally posted by Jelsoft

Giving more download speeds on emule does not give a single user more speed, it only opends more slots. Most people on emule have far better speeds then satalite, but you are still only going to get 2.5kb out of each person.
and with a normal emule queue of 600++ letting one guy have a good speed does not help anyone.

With a 10K upload i NEVER exceed 2 slots on my filesharing networks of choice. (and i prefer 1 if i can get away with it)
One reason why the E network is friggin slow, the program forces you to oversaturate your upload speed.

Well, there are mods that let you change this, but the standar mods have ca. 2.5kb limit on each slot. (if someone download at 1kb from another slot, another slot gets the rest of the speeds)

you can get the lsd mod and it will let you change the number of slots get is at www.emule-mods.de/?mods=lsd
