HELP! Downloaded some .avi movies and when i play in winamp they play upide down. Does anyone know way around this or a program which can mirror video??
It sounds like you do not have the correct codecs that are required to watch the video that you have. You should obtain a copy of either AVI Codec or GSpot. Those two programs will let you know which codecs are needed to play said video file and will also point you to websites where they are available for download. I believe you can find GSpot on klites website.
Nemo Codac Pack
use oe of thses and you should have al the codacs you need, but I would recomend to uninstall any other codacs that are already installed.

Do YOU Streamload?????? www.Streamload.com
DON'T INSTALL THE NIMO CODEC PACK. It causes more problems then it solves! You're better off using a program like GSpot to find out what codec the file is using and then getting each codec as you need it IMO.
A practical solution would be to turn your monitor upside-down.

Download, install...
Check Xvid as well as Divx/Mpeg4 and your done...
Now play the video...

this problem is often caused BY nemo codec pack--it happens if the bicubic resizer and moonlight scalar filters are clicked on install and you don't need them
if you get an upside down movie, redownload it
fixing it isn't worth the effort it requires
I recommend this everywhere! I've done it here at least 5 times...
Anyway, download 3ivx (download)... it's the best...

What is 3ivx?
3ivx video is a modern MPEG-4 video compression system which allows high quality video in unprecedented file sizes.
You can store over 2 hours of near DVD quality video on a single CD-ROM or stream near DVD quality video over a cable modem or DSL modem.
Why should I install 3ivx?
The 3ivx decoder plays back most MPEG-4 variants (including DivX 3,4 and 5, Apple MPEG-4, Philips MPEG-4 and XviD). The 3ivx decoder produces noticeably higher quality video than other decoders due to its high quality post-processing filters, and because of its core design and optimization maintains a record-breaking decode speed. The windows version of the decoder includes an AAC audio decoder for Windows Media Player as well as a Media Splitter (to play back .avi, .mov and .mp4 files inside Windows Media Player).
The 3ivx encoder produces industry-leading compact high quality MPEG-4 video and is distributed as a plug-in for QuickTime as well as a plug-in for Video for Windows. This allows you to encode MPEG-4 video in .avi, .mov or .mp4 files (with AAC audio) with the encoding application of your choice.
Where can I download it?
There's a box on the right side of the page. Click on the platform of your choice and follow the instructions.
Can I buy a 3ivx license?
Yes. Please visit our store.
For volume licensing or tailored solutions, please contact us.
What if it doesn't work?
You can check the support section of our web-site or use the search field on the bottom of every page to find answers to a wide variety of questions. An alternative is to visit our forums to post a question or a bug report.
If you purchased an EMS (Enhancements, Maintenance and Support services) package together with your 3ivx license or if you are the owner of a 3ivx D3.5 serial number, you can use our e-mail support services.

That thing caused CRAZY problems to everything I played and used...it is the worst codec pack a person can get
More problems and More Problems and More Problems
I never had a problem with nimo codec. If you install it correctly it will work. Read this guide. It made for people that know nothing about codecs.

just turn the screen upside down. Don't hassle with codecs and all that confusing stuff.
I agree. I think its that new nimo pack if you do have it installed.
I installed it and my movies played upside down or mirrored on all my players except winamp.
I uninstalled all codecs, renamed the old ext in system folder to .old and reinstalled just divx and xvid and it fixed everything.
Just because your entitled to your opinion,
doesn't mean your actually right.!!!!!
Nimo is a perfect codec package. I have never had problems with it. It isn't designed to be fully installed which is what I think most of you are doing. If you do it fully, then yes, you WILL have problems. Some of the codecs conflict with each other and one of them will cause it to switch the video upside down. So, bottom line is, RTFM!!! Follow the instructions of how you are supposed to install the codec, and it will work fine.

Winamp seems to do that a lot, actually, especially if its a beta of WA3.
I would recommend another program to play videos, unless they are in the NSV format. I'm sure there are plenty of choices that other people will give you regarding video players. Try em out. But I did not find Winamp to be that good when it came to video playback.
As an aside, this is post number 500. Go me.
