"A federal judge approved a settlement agreement Friday in a price-fixing lawsuit that will result in more than 3.5 million music consumers receiving nearly $13 each."
the article http://yro.slashdot.org/yro/03/06/14...tid=188&tid=99
and wouldnt you know it: on the day this news broke, almost all the major p2p news-websites were conveniently hit by DOS...as if this news makes a particular organisation uncomfortable...

The RIAA: Here, you can have $13 for all the years we ripped you off.
My response:
"That's ok, keep your $13 and I'll settle my claim via p2p."
Keep an eye on MS and the RIAA: http://slashdot.org
www.whatreallyhappened.com is interesting.
A list of all newly released CDs which have been doctored with DRM: http://www.fatchucks.com/z3.cd.html
YES! I filed for that.
Even though I haven't bought a CD in years...:wings
Only a lousy, measely $13??! Surely, they owe me more than that, lol.......Whatever, I'll take what I can get....and them some.
To all my freaks out there: HOLLA if ya hear me.
I can be characterized as the smartest dumbass and the dumbest smartass.
My favorite P2P apps: Ares, Clean Blubster, BCDC++, Emule Plus, Shareaza, Bittorent
I heard about that a while ago. But I missed the March 3 deadline. Kinda forgot about it. But I too will settle the score thru Kazaa, and others.:fire
That's not eeven the price of one new CD if you include tax. I say the RIAA got off easy on that one.

Since its inception almost 30 years ago, the internet has been transformed from a primitive device for sharing thoughts and ideas, into a massive network where people pay to connect and read advertisements they don't want, while calling each other "asshats".
it's 2 cd's from a bargain bin... best buy had a 4 cd set for about $10... forgot who it was, but it was incredibly old. a la 1950's music.Originally posted by Wolfie

I think it serves them right to be Fined. I would like to see them put out of business as far as I am concerned. I hope it really hurts them.

Hey ROMANTICGUY50 & UBER-RAT, could the two of you try to expand your sig's a little?
$44 million? THAT'S IT????
They have swindled the American public out of TWICE that at least!!!!!
The things I want to do to Hilary Rosen I cannot print here. Let me just say they are bad, bad things.
EVIL WILL ALWAYS TRIUMPH BECAUSE GOOD IS DUMB
probably even more than $88mill... more like several hundred mill if not a billion. think about how many cd's there are... and how many are bought. if eminem sells 20 million cd's, the riaa has fixed the price at least $1... he's let out 3 cd's, $60 million. now do that for ALL the good cd's with high first week release sales.Originally posted by TipYourBartender

Im sorry, but that site. www.whatreallyhappened.com is mostly full of 60s folk that havent come down off thier LSD trip.
I love how most of thier links lead you straight to a liberal website.
No offense to any liberals out there, but most liberals I have come in contact with speak about tolerance, but by the same token are the ones that are the least tolerent of anyone elses views.
Little ironic isnt it.
I wont go into much more because this is no place for diplomatic discussions but just wanted to get in my 2cents worth there.
Now back to the RIAA, I think it should be more like 159 billion due within 24hours of the ruling.
Or they will be subjected to an audit on how many illegal ebooks they may have or how many unlicensed MS windows pcs they are using.
Im sure someone somewhere in that ORG copied something they arent suppose to thinking they are safe.
I say its time for an RIAA audit.
Now how do we get that pushed through
Just because your entitled to your opinion,
doesn't mean your actually right.!!!!!
They definately have downloaded copyrighted music from indy labels, or other major labels. Didn't they already get fined for price fixing? The second time in 6 months? This is amazing. What do they think the RIAA is? It's like opec, they are in bed with eachother so they can price fix and don't have to compete..... I can't think of any other reason there would be a "RIAA" but to price fix. Honestly people. Screw filing for my $13, they'll have to give what isn't claimed to charity I believe, better them than me, I dooubt they have a nice computer. I'll just never buy another CD from these morons again. Unfortunately there's plenty of people out there who still do.
People on my "cool list" in no particular order.
Krell, Phalkon30, Ken17625, Triniti, Kyle06, Potato429, wessman, Winphuk, Woflie, MoonMan, All the mods, CCSDUDE, Lamourlady, Nasrules, Alannah777, vipp, foreverboard, NDGAARONDI, metale, isus, Endersgame21, Reg0232, notbob, Janett999, and uhh you!
I filled. I mean it's not much but hey $13 in free money.
Cleric, maybe it's because its only really liberal sites that dare to challenge the status quo these days. I sometimes check that site out to keep track of how many Palestinian children Israel has blown up.
@Theinfamousone, this is the same case, theyre only just getting round to passing out the money.
Like it! Ditto that, only thru a different p2p...Originally posted by UBER-RAT

But that "what really happened" site is mostly shit.
And not so true, skankho...
check out www.jewishworldreview.com. There are many excellent logical columnists that work to dispell the status quo spin garbage that comes from both sides, and they have more of a Libertarian bent. They're conservative--not because they tow the party line (in fact, many of them have no qualms about criticizing the Repbulican party)--but because logic has prevailed. Read Walt Williams' archives for a refreshing change of scenery.
