    Question regarding PeerGuardian???

I have installed PeerGuardian last week. I use Emule and sometimes WinMx.

Since last week i have been hit about 75 times by Sony Music from Taiwan, about 250 times by the FBI.gov, about 60 times by MPAA and all kinds of other company.

Does anybody knows the legality of them trying to get in my computer all the time??? The fact that i use some file sharing program does not give them the right to sneek in my computer to see what i have. Good thing i have PeerGuardian now.

I can retrace the owner of the IP adress so can i send them an Email asking them to stop or i will take legal action or will i just look stupid and loose my time???

This is an exemple of the hit.

    PeerGuardian v1.96b (2.0 pre-release)

Don't sue anyone--you don't have a chance to stop them or win. They're a lot bigger than you are. Suggestion just put the block list into your firewall.. Are you sure that the FBI is really trying to get into your computer? You might be analyzing another connection that is just a bias probe. Just make sure no one can connect to those ports.

Peerguardian seems to be doing it's job. Kiss it good night and pray that Sony burns to the ground. Otherwise....I'd let it go.

    Cool

Yes i am shure it was the FBI cause i used Infobear's to know who has this IP, also PeerGuardian identified the IP as FBI.GOV.

I am not worry about them but insulted that they tried to get into my computer many times.

I dont live in U.S.A so the hell with american laws. Neither do i care about Sony in Taiwan.

What i am going to do is keep track of when they try to get in and i will use this if they ever try to get me for downloading some DAMN music files or some movies.

If you use illegal means to spy on somebody you are as guilty as the other one who download these music files.

they arent trying to 'hack' into your computer. they are only doing what any user of the file sharing software you use can do, and that is look at and possibly download your shared files. what they are doing is perfectly legal.

Even Sony breaks its own copyright laws from downloading from kazaa :P

Maybe they are downloading the songs and preparing to go to your ISP and request your Name and Address or face court for it like the Verizon.

I've been reading that the Music Industry RIAA is going hard these few days, who knows what new they with tomorrow!!!

um.. they aren't trying to hack into your computer, and they're certainly not doing anything illegal. they're just spiders they've built to look for people sharing files illegally. they can see what you are sharing same as anyone else on your network can.
