    new MLdonkey2.5-> connects to fastrack

MLdonkey is a multi-platform multi-networks peer-to-peer client. Originally, it was the first open-source client to access the eDonkey network . The protocol was reverse-engeneered using an efficient protocol sniffer, Pandora .

Currently, with eDonkey , it supports several large networks, such as Overnet , Bittorrent , Gnutella (Bearshare, Limewire, etc), Gnutella2 (Shareaza), Fasttrack (Kazaa, Imesh, Grobster), Soulseek (beta), Direct-Connect (alpha), and Opennap (alpha). Networks can be enabled/disabled, searches are performed in parallel on all enabled networks, but each file is only downloaded from one network (wait for next release !), but from multiple clients concurrently.

    latest stable win32 installer
i am trying this out...its a little ugly
but i f you are going to try it i suggest getting
    mldonkey-ease(2.5)-installer.exe
as well it really helped me get the servers list and get connected...
still couldnt work out if i actually was on the fastrack network as well
but got lots of search results..
first run mldonkey-ease then Graphical Interface....
    MLdonkey_2.5-0_win32_installer.exe
first i installed this with all checkboxes ticked
i had no luck with this by itself

    mldonkey-ease(2.5)-installer.exe
then i installed this with all checkboxes ticked....

first I had to run mldonkey-ease
then Graphical Interface (need MLdonkey)....u will see the shortcut from the first installation...

it is not a nice GUI..but if u are used to linux its similar to a few linux ones..psyslsk..etc

some of the networks are not connecting but i think i have to find where to put the server addy's for openap,bittorrent..etc
i have only got as far as tryng the search..the downloads worked..
but i didnt try a full one..(got some stuff running already)

^a post on some of the problems ppl are having with it..

oh_yeah folks it dont seem to go into win98as easy as it it did for me in XP...
would be interested in hearing from any one that did this sucsessfully in win98..

opening the gui and inputing the directory for your shares in uploads tab might help things as well..._________________

It sounds pretty good, but it's a little hard to learn. Finally maybe we can get a FastTrack client for mac.

But why doesn't any of my downloads ever start? It looks like im in some kind of que ranked at 4000+. Is this right? Is there some kind of participation level like in Kazaa, or do I just have to wait forever?

How does an open source client afford the fasttrack license? i mean this is 'illegal', right?

How on earth does that make sense? Yet another non-sensical, pointless, bandwidth-stealing post from NoX.

I have to say I'm glad this has finally appeared, hopefully we'll see FastTrack in Shareaza before too long!

i remember writing the installation guide for the earlier version.......that was the 1st to ever connect to fasttrack.....

    really lazy......

    may be later...........

ease installer HAD corrupted chunks problem,,,,,

in the other installer the download.ini(this had all options listed)..was corrupted.... so u had to delete it then run mlnet.exe, and it made a new download.ini........

    just a suggestion.......
    mlgui.exe SUX!!!

mlwatch gui works a charm, if u witness connection problem with core then wait for never version , itll be out soon, a lab of couple of days max!!!

Damn! Although I can't blame Mike for not wanting to use it (if that's the case). I don't use FastTrack generally, I just think having it in Shareaza would increase Shareaza's popularity.

Heh...content is slowly flowing in anyways as it is

FastTrack would just bring leechers, fakes, and viruses
