Hi,
Im in India, and recently, my ISP blocked kazaa. and i know that thats exactly what the problem is, because the pricks first told me for around a month that they dint know why kazaa wasnt working, and that they were trying to figure out why. AND THEY EVEN HAD THE AUDACITY TO TELL ME THAT FASTRACK HAD BLOCKED MY ISP's IP's, !!!! BECAUSE WE WERE DOWNLOADING TOO MUCH !! LOL!!!
so anyways, the long and short of it is that theyve blocked kazaa, and dont really plan on resuming it!! is there anyway, i could go around this, perhaps map my port 1214 to another port ? im pretty sure a lot of people around the world face the problem of ISP's blocking kazaa , perhaps someone who knows how to code software can make a small application to tackle this problem ???
I am not sure if kazaa has a way to change the ports it's using. I can't look now as I have to much going on. But I do know winmx will let you change ports, so if your isp blocks it, you can change the port. I read a post about it here I think.
Do a search on the forums, you might find that post.
winmx is shaping up to be very good, so you might want to use it.
Also you might try using imesh which is a app that is linked to fast-track. It may or may not be on another port.
I also saw a application which really is a port scanner configured to scan the fast-track network. You can't share, but you can download off of people on the fast track network. It's not true p2p, but it might allow you to at least get some onf what your looking for.
I don't remember the website, but I have the file and it is called KaZearch, see if you can find it with a web search.
Hope this helped even a little.
Are they blocking KaZaA or the Fasttrack protocal in general, if they're just blocking KaZaA, go to Grokster or just change ISP's, no one needs bullshit like that.
Isn't there a way to change your IP #? I thought there was, maybe you should try browsing the net for a program or something, I dunno, I just thouht that there was.
The only way I know how to get threw this is to use a http tunning , but don't have any more detals then that.
i got quite an overwhelming response, considering i posted the msg at 8 am my time, and got all the responses by 12:30!!! =)
the thing is that, they are probably blocking the ports, because even grokster doesnt seem to work!
will try imesh - tho i doubt that would work as well - but its worth a shot, will try kaZearch as well, tho i thought that worked on gnutella!! ?? - which is very slow from my internet connection - i cant really switch my connection, cuz here they have regional monopolies on cable internet - and this is the only provider for me, and if i choose not to be with him, then im back to dialup internet !!! - the broadband market hasnt really opened up in india as yet!
the http proxy idea sounded the most probable to work - does anyone know how to do that ?? , to somehow redirect all info from one port onto another ????
But if you're really desperate to use KaZaA still, check my post...
"Advanced Users" / "Connecting" / "p2p behind routers"
it tells you how to do HTTPTunelling using Socks2HTTP and SocksCap32 (These allow you to use just about anything on any protocol behind almost any firewall)
