    Question 56K - Timeouts :-(

Hi there. I am a newbie to edonkey but I think i am slowly getting the hang of it. The download speeds I have been getting are pretty good, but i have one question left that hasnt been answered. Becuase I am on a unmetered 56K connection, I get disconnected every two hours. Is there any way I can make the donkey reconnect me 2 the net and carry on with the download? Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanx,

I have the same problem when I'm using my home connection. It's 56k too. Mine at least stays on for 6 hrs. 2 hrs would suck. I've tried the auto redial setting in Windows IE & it reconnects but the donkey won't start. It just keeps scrolling thru the server list. I'm running XP on my home system.

Have you tried the auto redial setting yet? It might work.

    go browse the edonkey forum

I was reading the edonkey forum a few days ago and read about the exact same problem you guys are having. Someone posted a application that would restart the donkey, you should go search around and maybe ask and someone can point it out to you.
I have become a big fan of the donkey lately, seem to get about 5 or 6 good complete cd's a night lately.
Once you can keep your connection you ought to get plenty of stuff off the donkey.

    good luck!

ok thanx very much guyrs are great! With the appropriate settings in edonkey, I managed to download about 90MB over night which isnt half bad for 56K
With a tweak of the bandwidth throttle settings I might be able to achieve even more...Does anyone know any optimun settings for 56K?
