    Bittorrent Speeds

Ok, guys I have tried several of the Bittorrent clients and I really do not see the "kick-ass" downloads. I am using BT++ at the moment and I have tried it at all the settings, I am a dialup users so I first tried it at that and then I tried it at Unlimited and the other, but I could only get at best 5kbs out the program, sorry "Total Download Speed" was massive but what relevence does this really have? I can get 5kbs and over on KaZaA, XSC, Shareaza and Morpheus v3. So whats the big deal?

BitTorrent is really designed for broadband so do not expect it to work for dialup at all. I get 3.12 megabits down on my cable modem from BT++ so no complaints here.

Well I can't really see how it maxes out one type of connection and not others. Also, for all the coders out there, the guy who made this says he worked full-time for a year on it. Do you think it is so well coded that this is the case? The GUI it as to be said is very basic, at least.

My point exactlly, BT is made to get new content fast, not over a dial-up, so I would try ajnother p2p app or get broadband.

well TFoS, BT doesnt like to serve people who are not uploading much first. So basicaly, your always last to get the leftover bandwidth. The GUI is meaningless, its the functions of how BT appropiates uploads/downloads that is ingenious. One guy working a year? great, out standing job!

I pray for you TSoF!!! lol I blow half my monthly budget on my broadband connection but dial up is unexceptable to me now. I find it frustrating to use and it causes me fits of rage. I do think you would be better off sticking with another app for now. I feed the 56kers and they usually throw me a bone too.(on winmx plug plug) I just added that so as you would not think I hate dial up users. I dont

I get crap on bit torrent, best i ever got was 65K for about a minute, then it dropped to 50 then 40 then eventually down to about 4. or zero, or any single digit number.

I gave up on Bit Torrent about a week ago, when i fail to get any semblance of speed what so ever from it.

Sorry everybody but this BT is just BULL S''T stuff. I have tried it 30 times since last week and it Suck big time. Dont understand all the hype for this. 75% of the time there is a tracker problem and the rest is very low download speed. I have High Speed ultra, 3 Mbit/s for download and 640 kbit/s for upload witch is more then descent. The most i got from BT is 5ko/s download and 8 ko/s upload. Using Emule is a 100 times better. If you download the Matrix for exemple it is 3 cds so let say you get about 20 ko/s average on each cd that makes 60 ko/s total.

Never in my wildest dream i will get that speed on BT. If you checked at any BT website all you have is people complainning about FAKES and the Traker. The sites dont clean there downloads anybody can post a download FAKE . When you use Sharereactor or Filenexus or Sharealive you never encounter this problem. This BT is only a big hype. The most popular site for BT is http://www.suprnova.org/ and its down most of the time or have all kinds of problem.

Depends what you're downloading. I can consistently max out my connection when downloading well seeded, popular stuff.

The reason it doesn't like dialup is because the uploads saturate your throughput.

First off, BT is in its infancy, and people haven't started hosting trackers and linksites on decent servers. That's why they're always down. That and ddos attacks...

Secondly, fakes are to do with the quality of the linksites and trackers, not protocol and program.

Both of these problems will be fixed when people start to use better clients and better sites.

I understand your point of view and do agree with it. What i am saying is, NOW, the system suck big time. Does it have a future??? Yes i do beleive so.

I have not seen any site where they control the veracity of the links that are posted on there pages. Also if you go to there forum there is NO respect at all for each others, witch you get on regular Emule, Edonkey sites.

It will need a strong policy or this will be a free for all system without rules or ethic.
