Which program were you using at the time. Just curious. I have been a Kazaa user for awhile and figured, better late than never in realizing there are better things out there.:wings

djeeez, isn't this getting out of hand?
I can't imagine where p2p will be within a year or 2, when internet law will be perfected and p2p users will prosecuted for downloading. I really hate this but I think that those p2p appz like (kazaa, winmx..) will transfrom in big movie/music databases where you'll have to pay to download something. A nightmare: big (hollywood) industries will make money out of the software that once haunted their nightmares! Disgusting...
Check out my previous post about irc-ork, i don't think they will ever be able to detect users downloading from irc-networks, actually it is impossible. Remember the upcoming of mp3, it was first swapped out on irc networks....
it is possible to track you on irc because most irc networks does not hide your ip/hostmask, and every time you upload or download, your ip would be given.Originally posted by _ChungPao_

when p2p user are persecuted for downloading, freenet would take over.
yeah, i know, but if you request a file, a dcc connection starts outside the network and has nothing to do with the irc-server where you requested that file, you can even logoff from the server without killing your download.
They couldn't prosecute you for typing "xdcc send #", that would be redicilous i guess....
good thing you blocked dotster.com (a web hosting/domain name outfit)
who knows what they would have done if they'd have found you on kazaa

they actually went through 4 different addys before they finally stopped.
thanks mitsugi for the translated pages to that article.
so what, do retspan think they r going to get everyone?
is their intention just to scare most people into not using p2p apps and to go out and buy their music???
i mean we r talking literally millions of people.
seems like a big waste of the riaa's money and retspans time.
in the end they will look pretty foolish for even trying.
although i feel for those who will persecuted, and hey, maybe it will even be me, i just dunno.
If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain
yea... since i love osx (whats new) and will be majoring in computer sciences, expect to see a peerguardian for osx in a few years *cough* lolOriginally posted by Winphuk
