    Disappearing Bytes....Nooooooo!!

I check my transfers this morning and.....huh? ....what?........two files I've been working on have been reset. The thing that pisses me off is that they were both nearly complete. Now, they've been reset back to zero and are starting again.

    How can this be?

i take it these were movies?
    it is weird.
could u have been disconnected and then an automated "search more sources"/"automated queue" began, and a new file dl was started?
i can't think of any way they could be stopped and then started again at zero, without any action on your part.
    any ideas peeps?

yes, they were .mpg files. As far as I know there was no stop in the connection.

I thought about the possiblity of "search for alternates" , but I don't understand how this would happen on it's own. Besides I have 6 other files downloading and these were not affected.

I glanced my firewall log, but nothing strange. All I can think of is a Winmx hack, but that's just a guess.

u say there was no stop in the connection, just that they "restarted" from zero?
do u have an "incomplete" file of, that which u did dl?

The previous incomplete files (or the bytes transferred) are gone. I don't keep track of the hash id, so I don't know if the new incomplete file is the same. There's no trace of the bytes I've already transferred. 679 megs vanished off the hard drive.

What I want to know is if it's possible to remotely delete (reset) someone 's incomplete files.

This happened to me when I was d/l a movie also. The difference with me is that the 600mb dat file stayed in my hard drive and was just slowly rewritten. I tried reinstalling k-lite and all that but nothing changed. This has happened once b4. One question, we're you using avi preview or anything to watch the movie b4 this happened?

No. I know what you're talking about, but this happened in WinMx not K++. And we are not only talking 1 file reset but 2 out of a total of 8 incomplete downloads.

    This one's got me baffled.
