Slower on edonkey network after shareazaa

I don't know about you guys but when i haven't got any thing to download i close emule, I got a total of ca. 38G up and 35G down.

And I haven't gotten a average speed of over 10KBS nowadays... (i've got a 1.5Mbit line down, but never gotten over 60kBytes)

do ya think it's got something to do with shareazaa coming in?

How slow is edonkey for you?
overall i find it a very "social" network as I think upload and download traffic is about 1:1, but i have a 10KBYTE
up, so the whole program is kinda slow (read: VERY)

it's got it's flaws, but my god it shines IMHO

    (edit: hehe stupid typo[s])

Alot of edonkey depends on the server your on. I haven't noticed any slowdowns. Edonkey actually seems to go slow using shareaza, but sticking with emule hasn't seen any change. Does anybody know if the new hybrid client makes things faster by connecting you with overnet?

You will almost never get the full speed of your connection using P2P especially if you have a firewall. 60k is pretty good for edonkey, many people complain about the speed but what you sacrifice in spedd you get in quality of files.

eDonkey has always been a bit on the slow side compared to other networks. I haven't noticed a difference myself, other than a few more full servers than usual.

no firewall, but behind a router, 60kBit is peak (for around 45secs, happened once or twice)...

BTW what's better? login on a the biggest server or the nearest server?
