    Additional Networks in Shareaza

Shareaza 1.9 will offer access to two additional P2P networks, both of which enjoy substantial popularity, as well as the premiere Gnutella2 network and support for the legacy Gnutella1 network. Following that, future versions will offer an even wider selection of networks.
There are apparently two new networks coming to Shareaza on May 6th. What will they be? Place your bets.
    Damn it! I forgot Opennap.

    Networks connected to:
    Edonkey (Shareaza)
    Gnutella2 (Shareaza)
    Gnutella (Shareaza)
    Bittorent (Shareaza)
    Fasttrack(Kazaa Lite)
    Get Shareaza : It's amazing.

Well.............I have inside information, but I'm told that I will be shot if I let the news out, so I'm just gonna give you a clue:

"You may have thought it weird that Shareaza has support for this."

    I'm saying no more.

Is it SongSpy? AudioGalaxy? Napster? Cause that would be weird as hell.

Oh, come on! How many open P2P networks are there in the world today?

    Three-- count 'em:

Gnutella (Shareaza has support for this)
    Gnutella2 (this too)

    and... drumroll...

    BitTorrent! DUH!

The fourth one is a surprise, I suppose.

Also Bit - Torrent seems a viable option

Bit - Torrent is also a good network to support. I don't know about implementation difficulty, but I sure know that it is a good network to deliver a highly demanded file.

    who are you kidding?

we all know its gonna be edonkey and winmx!

    haha, just kidding...

it'll probably be edonkey and overnet, since they really are 2 seperate networks.

Just have thought of that: if the second were freenet?? Man, then Shareaza would be really a step over the competition.

I don't think really it's gonna be freenet, but at least specs are public so it could be one of the next (the announce says there will be other additions!). Freenet doesn't seem mature enough, though, and you need the jdk 1.4 to run it... but it would be cool nonetheless!

I might wet my pants if mike actually pulled off freenet support. This would sertainly be a huge suprise!

    additional networks

bittorrent would be the best to support and maybe ed2k, but mike seems like he likes to have the latest technology so probably overnet.

    EMULE IS NOT A NETWORK!
it is a client to the edonkey network.

anyway, i hope that mike makes it super ultra ridiculously easy to do shit on edonkey, bc i never really understood all the servers and stuff like that.

maybe i should read a tutorial...

[small]emule does run on the edonkey network, right?[/small]

    Question

Ok, I 'm probably gettin ahead of myself here (NO! Scratch that, I AM gettin ahead :wings ).
If & when Kazaa loses it's battle with the evil empire, will Sharman release the spec on their protocol? Allowing Shareza the chance to swoop in & grab the ball.
We'll have the best client accessing the biggest network :santa
