That's what happens when you sue college students who don't have any money. I bet RIAA took a loss on lawyer bills just by going through with the lawsuit and finally decided to cut thier losses and settle for chump change.

Since its inception almost 30 years ago, the internet has been transformed from a primitive device for sharing thoughts and ideas, into a massive network where people pay to connect and read advertisements they don't want, while calling each other "asshats".

They lost money, but they made their point. The students folded because they thought they had done something wrong. In reality, they did nothing wrong, and probably would have won because they were being prosecuted unfairly, allow people to search other people's computers is similar to what google does, and that's not illegal.

Off topic but Wolfie, that signature is great.

Moral, if you're a student, don't use the college's internet connection to download copyrighted material. They are the RIAA's primary target. And the RIAA has leverage over Colleges.

Oh yeah, you shot yourself, right? You were to leave ZP but you didn't? You're the same one, unless you have multiple personality disorder.

The RIAA: Here, you can have $13 for all the years we ripped you off.

    My response:
"That's ok, keep your $13 and I'll settle my claim via p2p."

Keep an eye on MS and the RIAA: http://slashdot.org

    www.whatreallyhappened.com is interesting.
