    Rule #1, if it's not out yet, don't try to download it ;) Unless of course vcdquality has it listed... :) Still waiting for my x-men 2 download to finish ;)

    I DLed an avi about "Chambers" and "Secrets" and got an outstanding quality porno flick with these 3 gorgous swedish babes. I renamed it "Swedish porn flick" and added it to my private stash. :) It needs to be said that Kazaa is NOT for kids, but most parents dont seem to have a clue about what trouble kids can get into with these p2p apps.

    A good way to see what you are really downloading is the small utility you can download from www.mediapeek.com.
    If somebody you are downloading a movie from uses this program also, it will download preview thumbnails immediately when you start downloading, so after a few seconds you can see whats actually in the file. If it can not find thumbnails to download, it can create preview files.
    It also quite convenient, because you can start every movie with a double-click while you are downloading.

    Another good video previewing program is VideoLAN, you can get it at http://www.videolan.org. It also supports dual-language avi's, something that AVIpreview will not do. If you use eMule you can also view all downloaded segments (but you must always have the file header, at least a few hundred kb in the first segment)

    Thats true, VideoLAN is great, I use it myself. But MediaPeek is no movie-player like VideoLan, MediaPlayer and so on. It scans the movies and makes thumbnails from them. These thumbnails will be downloaded if you start a dl in Kazaa. Because of this, you can see whats in a movie even if you have downloaded only 1KB of it, and even if it would not play on your system because you don't have the right codec!

    avipreview all the way...
    mp3=bad
    ogg=good

    The RIAA: Here, you can have $13 for all the years we ripped you off.

    My response:
    "That's ok, keep your $13 and I'll settle my claim via p2p."

    Keep an eye on MS and the RIAA: http://slashdot.org

    www.whatreallyhappened.com is interesting.

    Wink

    By the way, If you use VideoLan you dont need the first chunk to be able to preview the movie also you can even preview the BIN file. If you use VideoLan as your video player in Emule, for exemple, you will not be able to view the BIN file, just open VideoLan and look for your part file in the temp dir and load the bin file. It will open like magic.

    VIRUS IN MOVIES ?

    a friend of mine downloaded a movie and once he was done he played it.

    Nothing came out - it was black and silent - A short while after he dispossed of the movie he ran into a window error. he reboted and ran into a Windows protection error .

    so he restarted again - went into safe mode and boted up normally after. but what he discovered was that all his mp3 files where gone. Vanished withought a trace.

    Is thier a virus that can do this out thier?

    Just curious - cause i aint gonna be downloding any movies for shiat.
