Lightbulb I need help! - July 6th, 2002, 09:57 PM

My modem supports Linux (I think, I read it somewhere online that with the disk I have, it has Linux support) but anyways I need help finding a driver for my modem, I have no clue where to look, I was hopeing someone could give me a link to a site besides www.linmodems.org I can't find notin' on that site, or even if someone could help me find the file I need to make it work on Linux, cause I lost the disk.. woops.. lol.. but heres the name of my modem ActionTec USB 56k Call Waiting and I just need a driver update/file to make it work on Linux.. please someone help me.. I want the Linux bad, I'm sick of windows! :devil

I looked around but I can't help.
When the manufacturer doesn't list Linux as a compatible system, it makes me wonder if someone wasn't blowing smoke up your butt.
The typical manufacturer will not fail to include ANYTHING he thinks will work.
It is possible that someone else got this to work, but in those cases the results aren't always reliable.

looks like cheap has a good link for ya..
I have used a linux box before, and your best bet is to switch the modem that way it is going to be compatible with the flavor of linux your going to run..



remember this tho* be it windows or linux, you know whats good for you. i use windows * lol * and surely i dont get blue screens that much*
