the mp3 play fine in windows media, its just when i try to record them, like if i record a billy connolly spoken comedy clip and a song on the same cd, the song is fine but the live comedy sounds like the chipmunks like its going way too fast

when the billy connolly mp3s are playing i noticed they are playing at 32kbits/sec, yet the songs are playing at 160, could this be the problem?

never ran into that one - July 6th, 2002, 09:59 AM

what file extension do these have? Go to the file and look at it's properties. I would have to think that you have a different format for the spoken word piece. Did your rip these from cd or D/L them?

what application are you burning with? - July 6th, 2002, 10:39 AM

You might need to convert to wav format and then burn it.
What are you using to burn the files with?
I think the builtin encoder is not compatible with those particular mp3's. I would guess you have mp3pro builtin to your burner?
Either way making the mp3's to wav should help. If you need a application to do that, try CDEX or EAC both freeware and easily found on the net. Or I believe you can use winamp to turn your files into wav files also.

well since I don't know what you have... - July 7th, 2002, 06:11 PM

download cdex, it is freeware and it works well. It is also a good ripper and you can use it to convert between several formats like ogg to mp3 or to wav, very useful.
search on yahoo for cdex.
