i think RIAA will die - March 5th, 2003, 07:58 AM

I think we will see artists will be running their show independently and there will be organizations like RIAA or MPAA.

As time passes everything will get better(in the tech world). Every 18 momths we doubble our clock speed. Right now we are at 3ghz. In 18moths we will be at 6ghz so it will be like 28.8 months: 2 years and 4 moths from like december so like april 2005 we will have a 10ghz prosser (about). Well unless there is some kind of wall where you can't clock the chips up to 10 ghz, but I bet you can. Even though it is apparent that prosser acatecture is more important. look at the ititum, like a $3,000 chip, the pride and joy of intel, that is only $900 mhz. Well it is 64 bit.

peace

(I hope my math is right, i am a littel backed right now)

I think the computers themselves we be the greatest advancemnets. We will see DNA computers with holographic memory drives and 1.5 holographic discs (about 7 years). Magnetic Ram and we might get 3D screens. Also, a lot faster internet. Hopefully Internet2 becomse commercially available and affordable.

The minimum connection speed for internet2 is 155 megabits per second and they said you could download the whole congress library in 20 seconds with it.

An international team set new Internet2 Land Speed Records by transferring 6.7 gigabytes of data across 10,978 kilometers (more than 6,800 miles) of network in less than one minute. Using a quantity of data equivalent to nearly two feature-length DVD-quality movies, the transfer was accomplished at an average speed of more than 923 megabits per second, or more than 3500 times faster than a typical home broadband connection, during the SC2002 conference held 16-22 November 2002

923Mbits/sec? LOL, what kind of NIC and bus did they use? Mine maxes out at 10Mbits/sec. I thought it was good when I downloaded 6.7 GB in one night LOL. What kind of physical connection do you have to have? I mean, can you get Internet2 through the phone or cable lines? Cuz if you can't, it's going to take decades to implement.

I'd say a combo of all of them. Newer OS's will require faster cpus to experience all the advances and also better graphics cards to see the visual improvement. I'm sure the future p2p's would be the same way - faster, visually appealing, etc.
