You are not banned from Direct Connect, just from that hub you connected to. My suggestion, join a hub that doesn't have asshole OPs and follow the rules of the hub. If you are unable to meet the guidelines of a particular hub, then don't connect to that hub. Otherwise, you might be kicked/banned from a hub.

Complicated - February 22nd, 2003, 10:52 AM

Dirrect Connect has soem cool shit - lots of stuff and pesonal hubs - One thing i have a problem with its to dam complicated - I mean how many f in windows must you have in one program - Its f in nutz _ I have tried using it a couple of times_ but hell _ its just hell.

Its not for new users _ only for the expert P2P users - and yes - you must share alot fo files - its the only way to support P2P.

It is not that complicated. Anybody can use it. As for the "must share lots of files", i'll admit its true for a lot of hubs but not all. There are many different kinds of hubs out there. You just have to find them.

By the way, are you using DC++? If not, I recommend it.

What I would do is get a "search" program for Direct Connect. Use either GloSearch or MoSearch. Use these programs to locate what you are looking for. You may also come to find a particular hub that has many users sharing what you are looking for. These programs are located:

HERE

If you have a dynamic IP then they can't ban you for life. Most of the time they only ban your IP for a couple of hours. If you don't want to wait that long get a new IP. This is how you do it in XP.

Choose run, then type cmd and press enter. Then type ipconfig /release and finally ipconfig /renew. You should have a new IP. Each command may take a couple of secs.
