That wierd. It works fine through my router, what kind to you have?
Since its inception almost 30 years ago, the internet has been transformed from a primitive device for sharing thoughts and ideas, into a massive network where people pay to connect and read advertisements they don't want, while calling each other "asshats". |

Yeah, multisourcing isn't so much a problem for me, I like it how it is, it keeps it more peer oriented rather than just source oriented.
Multipile connections to one hub? Wha the? What are you talking about? I don't know what you're talking about, but it sounds a little leechy to me. And...bandwidth limiting, I don't know, there's pros and cons, a lot of times I would like to play a game online, but not have to close DC, it would be nice if I could say "only take 20KB/s from my upload", but obviously people would abuse it, so I suppose it'll have to stay how it is. i think DC should be build that u can ban the type of client that can download from u. like u can chose to only let ppl with DC to connect to u if u consdier ppl using BCDC++ r leechers.
also a feature like WinMX is nice, being able to decide the bandwidth priorities of the transfers. As for the hub programs, it should have a function to filter out all the MLDonkey clients and search bots. ppl using those r only willing to leech they won't bring anything to ur hub. trust me, being a hub owner/operator i'm fu*king sicked of watching those stupid search bots eating my bandwidth away. |

Maybe, but the search bots are infinitely helpful. It saves me hours of connecting to hubs, and disconnecting just to find a specific video that I'm looking for. I think as far as leeching goes, DC is about the best P2P alternative.
You may call me a leech, but I think only being able to connect to one hub is a huge bottleneck for downloading, and since probably 50% of the people there have upload slots open anyway, I think it's all good the way it is. There would less files being shared, and less people to share it with if everyone had DC. Right now I'm connected to about 6 hubs, and I have 6 uploads going, and 2 very slow downloads, am I a leecher? Not in my book, it doesn't matter how many people have access to my files, but can't download, as long as I am uploading atleast as much as I download, I think I am helping people. if u r hunting for a specific file(say an ISO for example) u'd have a better chance of posting it on a trade forum rather than searching through hubs blindly. if ur gonna do that do it with Kazaa or WinMX. i once banned the entire IP chains starting with 80 cuz alot of the searchbots had it.
anyway i consider a DC hub as a small community for friends to come in and share stuff. we don't need any outside interference that may potentially slow our transfering speed down. |

Quote:
give them a random password, and they'll never get in as a former hub host, the glo /mo searches use less than 1 MB of bandwidth an hour, and almost no processor time whatsoever if you hate them (mo/glo), hate them because mediaforce uses them to find your hub, not because some user is smart enough to not want to waste their time hanging out in your hub if you don't have what they want |
