Thumbs down I hate Bon Jovi - January 17th, 2003, 10:55 PM

I don't know if anyone in here feels as i do, but i really hate this band. It's the same thing as with Metallica - a bunch of old farts, who are unable to make something deserved to be callled music. At least Metallica had some decent tunes at some period, but Bon Jovi is just a classical example of a band which shouldn't be praised, but should be laughed at. I don't know why there's so much praise for them, i really think that Bon Jovi is one of the lamest "hair metal" bands of all time.

The thing about Bon Jovi is that they never set out to look like anything else. They know how lame they are, and don't really care, unlike Metallica.

I think that i should replace the word "hate" with "strongly dislike". Probably there are some worse bands out there, but i dislike Bon Jovi anyway.

I wonder how people keep the songs apart... they're all basically the same? What good is a title if the next song on the CD sounds exactly the same as the previous one.

Still I have a theory why people (women) buy those CDs everytime, eventhough they are all the same... same reason why horny boys and I-want-to-look-just-like-her teenage girls buy Britney's CDs :-)

Very true. Although bands/artists/groups/etc. usually play a specific genre of music. While I do expect some variance in the music, I don't expect all the songs to be completely different. I don't expect Heavy Metal on one song and some classical piano on another and then a banjo playing country style music on the next(could happen, but good luck trying to find it). Some bands, while they may seem like they don't vary their music enough, ultimately play what they like and wan't to play. I wouldn't expect much of anything else from a heavy metal band than heavy metal. Which is why you have people who are "fans" of specific kinds of music.
