ok, ok. We have a lot of Metallica haters on ZP, but what we really need is a big fan of this band and probably Lars Ulrich himself. And then we will have a real discussion with first virtual war between fans and haters of Metallica :)

Metallica was up there in my top fav. bands. I still love all of their old albums, but some of their new stuff has turned me off to them. The Ja Rule team up mentioned above is one of them, and another is most of Reload the album. Rest assured when their new album comes out, I won't rush to the store to get it (or even download it for that matter... unless I'm extremely bored..).
Too bad for them, they used to rock. (Even if they didn't see out in more ways than possible, can old dudes like that really produce some really note worthly metal??). |

Metallica had such an underground rep, now they're so protective of their commercial status and rep. It makes me more sad than angry to see how their minds and attitude towards the music they make has changed, even more so than I dislike their change in music.
As recently as a decade ago, they would have never entertained the idea of a duet with a rapper, on philosophical grounds. Now they do it, not because of any change in their musical taste, but because they hope their album will sell better. And make no mistake about it, their next album will FUCKING TANK. I will put money on it. |
