I couldnt find what folding actually is, the site is busy, but I think there are greater causes out there

Currently, I run the United Devices client, its a cancer research platform, it uses idle cpu time to calculate new drugs to help cancer, www.ud.com

I think if we could get a group together for that, we could deffinately do some damage against cancer

Btw, the reason I'm so hyped on cancer research, as some of you know, my mother recently died of cancer, after battling for 13 long years of her life, and I hope to help them find a cure for cancer, as my sister will be at a very high risk factor

If anybody is intrested, PM me, or say it here, I could easily start a group for zp, and think about the power we would have (it has run on machines with 32meg of ram, and 486dx 66mhz machines, with little impact on performance, I think its worth it)

EDIT: sorry supreme, I did get through, thats a pretty worthy cause also, either would be a good choice, or for krull (lol), we could run seti, the search for extra terestrial inteligence

phalkon i will get that program- it sounds great, im getting it as soon as i can. ps. there should be an idle mode where u run all ofthe divided processor programs. with all the idle time being wasted on computers sitting around, we could find the cause or cure to cancer, or maybe even the cause of zeropains dumb flames
pps. all those programs would be one more reason to buy a faster computer: its like donating stuff, if i could run like 400 programs when im gone, that would be great! then when i comeback, ive solved hunger in africa (move to france )(jk) but seriously its not a bad idea

You would have to make a group name, so if you do decide to run it, make the group name Zeropaid

Also, for any of these, make a user name that can be identified by date, if you reload your computer, you cannot reuse your old name, you have to make a new one for new computers, so I usually do my name followed by the date, like mine would be "Phalkon30 1/8/03"

yea i think mine is ChipperROX--as for seti- that dont sound like the greatest cause to me, we already have decent stats that there is none remotely close to us, and we as humans arent smart enough to deal with aliens yet.
ps why dont we start this cancer development addon as a new post so that people may actually read this post?

And one thing about the actualy client-the task cpu time counter is running 10 minutes so far, but total cpu time is still at zero, what am I missing here?

The total cpu time is only updated when new stats are uploaded, so the next time you upload results, it will update (or it updates one behind, I dont remember)

i already have Google Compute on this pc, which performs task for folding.standford.edu.
