Talking Big thumbs up to the mods - January 7th, 2003, 03:47 PM

This has been said in other threads in the past, but I thought I would bring it up again

I am very happy with the mods here, and the additions to the mod list were a great idea, the site is much better regulated, and I think it takes a huge load off of seph, I felt bad that he was virtually the only active mod for a while, its also nice to see that even with that many personalitys, there haven't been any clashes about what should and shouldnt be done

One thing I thought I would bring up, is something I have noticed over time, the people that are flaming mods for excessive deleting or editing, tend to be newer members, even at my high post count, I'm still learning what styles of regulation work well on this board

I think that until a user has been here for a few months (of solid reading, or posting, not idle time), or until they have reached a few hundred posts, that they should not be taken so seriously by the mods, they just don't have the knowledge to know how to run this place (no matter what their P2P skill level is), suggestions are great to look at, but flames aren't

Sorry for the last part there, I've just had to get that out for a while, I hope I dont get flamed for my opinion, but there are certain un-named people here that have recently been flaming mods over things that they have no experience in dealing with

Overall, keep up the great work mods, I appreciate the work you do, and I'm sure most of the other users do to :)

(One last thing, I promise this time, I added a poll, it won't be in any way definative, or conclusive on anything, I'm just curious)

I couldn't agree with you more. I am glad you posted this here because I believe it should be portayed to some of the newer members to see.

If they think that are going to "run a muck" and ruin everything we have done for this community, then they will get a rude awakening.

Every new member was put into his place at one time or another (even me), until he or she reached a level in which was appreciated by the other members.

I hope I have reached that mark and I am viewed as one of "the gang" as I am reaching 300 posts and have contributed much, I hope, and have learned tremendoulsy from my fellow ZeroPaid members.

The new members give the site a different feel and it doesn't feel good. But, I trust the mods as they do an awesome job as it is and will continue to do a great job in the future. I beleive I have read in another thread that even IPs were being banned for some select few. I don't wish this to turn into UTC, but do whatever you have to do to keep this place in an orderally fashion.

Thanks,
12345678910

I want to chime in too.

Seph and the new mods are keeping the site looking very clean, without coming across in a iron-fisted sort of way.

Congrats to all of you!

I agree with what you say up to that point. There are alot of decent posters here who only come out for certain questions or topics.. otherwise they are just reading.

Also, post count doesn't always equal intelligence or maturity so I don't think it should be measured that way.

Good post otherwise! And I would like to add in that the new mods and Seph are doing a great job without being heavy handed.

Moon, I knew I would strike up some conrtoversy when I posted that, last night at about 2AM, I had a good way to say it, I completely forgot how I had it worded when I posted this

Yes, that was a generalization, but all I meant by it, was that most of the posters flaming mods, were generally noobs to ZP, I just think it takes a few months to fully appreciate what the mods do here, and how they do it

BTW, someting that does back up what you said moonman, is 12345678910, if he had 20 posts, I would still consider him "one of the gang" in a lot of ways, he posts good info, basicly quality not quantity, but it took him a little while to get there, he just needed to "mature" to zp or whatever you want to call it

Thanks man. That means a lot.

Whenever I hear this poem on the Chevrolet commercial, I think of ZeroPaid.

"Nobody Knows It But Me"

There's a place that I travel
When I want to roam,
And nobody knows it but me

The roads don't go there
And the signs stay home
And nobody knows it but me

It's far far away
And way way afar
It's over the moon and the sea

And wherever you're going
That's wherever you are
And nobody knows it but me

Patrick O'Leary

I don't know why I like this poem so much, but it just seems to stick in my head. Whenever I read it; it reminds me of this community.

ZeroPaid is a place where I can come to get away from school, homework and family and just enjoy the people who I read and learn so much from.

Thank You All,
12345678910

I think the new mods that were added a few weeks(week?) back are a great choice. Overall, this is a better community with them.

I still think you should look the word up, then again the word objective is used, so I guess you will have to look that word up as WELL RIGHT!

btw: kiss -asses make me sick

have a nice day:shy
Get over it already, that is all you have done since your start here is bitch and moan about Sephiroth. Maybe if you just settled down a bit and LET TRIVIAL THINGS GO then you would have a better time here.

Relax, otherwise you are going to get booted in the face in every thread you enter with the "I'm so damn special because a mod has it out for me" attitude.

Take what I said anyway you like, but do realise this wasn't a flame.

Seph is an excelent mod, without his help in the past, zp would be nothing, or at least not as good as it is now

He has kept the swearing down, and also most of the content out that we cannot have here, which I'm sure has helped ZP not get in trouble

That kind of comment is exactly what I was talking about, you just have seph, frankly I haven't seen a good reason to, and think seph was justified in everything he has done to deal with you

You are one of the few that will most likely never grow up here
