Question Web Hosting / General Questions - October 27th, 2007, 05:45 PM

I've built a website for the first time and its currently hosted for free at awardspace.

the only problem is i have a horrible, long web address.

I've found a domain i'd like to buy but i'm not sure what would happen after I purchase it. Can i set it somehow to point at my current site hosted at awardspace? Or do i need to purchase a domain name and hosting package from one place?

Also, does anyone know of cheap places to purchase a .com domain?

cheers.

I have used Network Solutions and Register.com to purchase the URL's. Then you can point it at your site. If you also purchase the "mask", the only web address they will see is the purchased domain. Either of these will also host your site. There are other cheaper sites, but you get what you pay for.
