Angry eMule problems - servers down or being blocked? - September 15th, 2007, 03:18 PM

Everything has been swell using eMule for some time now until today, when suddenly being connected to any of the DonkeyServer servers return no search results, and other servers are being flakey. Download speeds have been typically around 150Kbps but have dropped tremendously. Also I have had to change my TCP and UDP ports numerous times due to 'low ID' connections (most likely blocking attempts by my ISP, Insight). Anyone else experiencing these eMule problems? Plz post

I dont know if there is some way you could look if you are getting blocked by peer guardian if you are you have to contact them and see. im haveing no problems useing shareaza at the moment. i know some torrent sites use peer guardian as defult i guess but im not 100 percent sure if donkey servers use the this little program.

i have a low id most of the time because i have not unblocked my ports for donkey servers and i can still download quite well not very quick but i get lots of results from donkey server 2 in shareaza if the other user is firewalled and you are then neither of you can connect.

Try a different client as for an idea?

think I found out why - September 16th, 2007, 11:30 AM

I looked over the forums on Emule's web site and found others experiencing the same problem. Seems the DonkeyServer servers are experiencing problems, and since they carry the bulk of the network, that's really affecting sharing. KAD is working fine. I followed the advice given on the forums, added reputable server lists to my eMule, connected to another common server, and things are going smoothly now. Not quite the average 200 Kbps, but it's much better now.

As for port blocking, Insight does seem to do that after some time. They must monitor the bandwidth usage and then block the ports after awhile. Nothing I can't fix.
