The Official Noob Guide for getting into private trackers. - September 12th, 2007, 03:19 PM

After a year or so I feel as if some of the concepts have changed a bit so I'll revise this guide to reflect that.

**Revised: Version 1.3.0** Sunday December 14, 2008
**Revised: Version 1.3.5** Wednesday February 04, 2009

First of all, being in a private tracker is a privilege not a right so respect it. Second of all, for mid-level trackers and higher, someone else will have to put their ass on the line for you so don't expect a handout.

Speaking of handouts, what the fuck is with all these new topics showing up begging for invites, assuring good seeding capabilities. LIES. If anyone is as good as their word they wouldn't be here asking for invites. So without further ado, I present
TheLastFreeGuide for getting into torrent sites.

It would be wise to refer to this post when you are unsure about the rarity of the tracker in question.

This guide focuses on midlevel[3-6] trackers as a starting point.

Basics
To get into a private you have to:
1) Sign up when the site first started
2) Sign up at regular open signup intervals
3) Sign up when accounts are pruned below the user limit
4) Buy one off eBay[not recommended, all sites will ban]
5) Get one from a personal friend/generous person
6) Exchange one for a similar level site
7) Exclusive forum offers
8) Userclass only offers
9) IRC Interview

1-5 is probably beyond your reach if you are here.

So the only option left is to trade it somehow. And here's the secret, get ready, this guide will revolve around this: PU+ invite forums on other trackers.

**Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the invite forum here, except it is very opinion/rep based. And also too many people think their Oink, TL, level 5 and under trackers are worth FTN, ScT, Exigo.**

For all you people who claim they can seed, prove it. Get into a low level tracker and get a good ratio going and request an invite in their forums.

The Seeding Approach
Self explanatory.. seed to ridiculous levels.. like 50GB+ with little download. Some sites host the same content so it's easy to get a file from 1 and upload on another. For example, bitme hosts an overwhelming number of the same files as on elbitz, a currently open tracker. High ratios tell other people that you know how to share, and removes doubt that you will cost them their invites. Seedboxes help greatly but are not necessary. Demonoid is a good place to get files, ever since it came back up this year my ratio has not moved one way or another no matter what I download. There's a certain language megapack that is seeded on several other sites. Once you have a high ratio, ask around nicely, preferably in a specifically designated trading forum and generous members will kindly give you invites. TL and RevTT are easily acquired in this manner, for free.

The Bonus Points Approach
Some sites give bonus points for seeding for a certain amount of time like .. x264, BitSeduce(ratio transfer), Bit-HDTV. After piling up a certain sum of points, people offer their invites in exchange for a certain # of points. Oink and bitme are easily acquired in this manner, at low cost.

The PayPal Approach
Easy, but out of reach for most people who don't have/want to spend money or is against pay2leech concepts morally. Basically, the premise is to accumulate upload through donations and reach PU, or VIP and gain credibility so people want to send invites to you. Posting a lot in the forums help, it makes you seem more personable. If you do this, do it on a lv 4+ site. Also, at times you can only get invites through donating, people will offer to invite you to a site if you give them money to donate. This is done on a quid pro quo basis, what you are really offering them is free donor status and upload in exchange for an invite, one of the perks they get on your dime.

The Opportunist Approach
As I look around I see a lot of threads with offers for free invites. Some people have invites sitting around they never use. Others don't want them to go to waste but don't want to trade. Some people just want to kiss ass. Whatever the reason, look for threads that offer invites to the first __ people. Sometimes this comes with ratio requirements, which you should have to problem with if you use the seeding approach. But other times it will be a matter of being quick and in the right place at the right time.

Userclass MilestoneApproach
Some sites that are similar, like What and Waffles, and other high level trackers I won't mention offer invites for those that have reached a certain userclass, like Power User for example. The impetus for this is obvious, invite traders have made it dangerous to hand out invites so there are more restrictions. The assumption is that those who have made it in and have proven themselves on one tracker will be good member on a similar level tracker. Sometimes just reaching this required class and accessing the forums is all you need. Sometimes there will be hoops to jump through but you will not get this opportunity otherwise anyway.

IRC Interview
Some sites will go as far as conduct interview in their IRC channels for potential members to come and seek an invite. The approach to doing this is to find out the irc channel via google, and provided that there isn't an irc key on it, which most high level sites now implement, join and wait for a mod. Most users resent this, like myself, when invite seekers come into the channel but ultimately it is up to the SysOp to restrict the access so it's pretty much fair game. You might get an interview if you wait long enough, and they might ask for ratio proof, or speed. Most likely though you'll get a test that determines whether or not you know enough about the content to be a member.

What not to use: Tracker invite sites because all they do is collect your email and the ratio of beggars to givers is like 1000:1.

Misc A diamond in the rough site is SITR. It's small, 10k members, freeleech has been going on for about a month and a half now. You can buy upload cheap. It's great as a starting point for noobs and it's where I got Oink and BitMeTV free.

BitMe is a little higher up but I would consider that as another launching point because their invite forum is very active and they have 3 invite forums, the PU and VIP forums are far more generous.

Zeropaid: For me this is where it all started. I honestly would not have so many trackers if it weren't for this site. But I didn't use the invite forum. This is your grapevine, here people will post rare open sign up moments with a small window to register. Face it, you can't keep checking all of the time. Even with tracker checker you can't be awake all the time. Pay attention to open signups, they don't last long and sometimes when they're gone, they're gone.

Most important thing before I leave you: BE NICE TO PEOPLE! You never know who has connections and who doesn't. I remembered when I first acquired FTN from what appeared to be a lowly noob I met in a forum.

Nice post, well written display of common sense.

Unfortunately, the people who it would help most probably won't take time to read it before begging for invites.

Well I have 25 views right now. I'm sure they read the first line and left. Anyway, your entry is entered.

Right on with the advice. My 2 cents is to find a good private site...there are many even some good ones open for sign-up. Build yourself a good reputation. Upload if allowed and prove you are a Power User or equivalent. If you do this people are MUCH more likely to give you an invite! Plus, be nice! Never know who might be able to help you out!

Excellent well written post. However it won't be long until some idiot just reads the first line and starts asking for FTN invites :bom:

edit: damn I'm so tired right now that I just realized I said exactly what trendbend said... oh well off to bed and I agree with trendbend...

good post freeman.

my private trackers started with demonoid which i used almost exclusively for a year or so and built up a massive share ratio... it was only then i became curious about other private trackers and because i had built up such good stats there, i got some excellent invites from demonoid members, including bitmetv and oink.

i now have all the sites i want, altho i dont have sct or ftn and even though i am curious about those two, i dont feel desperate to have them because im so well served by the other 20 or so sites i use.

whenever i join a new private site i make it my goal to become a power user as soon as possible so i then have invites to swap with other people should the opportunity arise that someone wants what i have and also has something that i want. getting to power user on oink and bitmetv were the hardest, but i got there in the end with tenacity and uploading a lot of my own content.

i dont go actively looking for invites anymore, not here or anywhere else, but i keep my eye out just in case a chance comes along that i can get in to a new site that interests me.

demonoid is easy to get invites to and if you have a good ratio there (where seeding is more-or-less optional) it proves you are a good bit torrenter which will help you get in to next level trackers like torrentleech, torrent-damage etc etc.

this was how i built up my trackers:

demonoid

then torrentleech, torrent-damage, and supertorrents

then bitmetv, oink, and blackcats-games, the horror charnel, diwana

i got into the following sites during open signups (using the open signup thread here as you recommend)

bitsoup, filelist, pornbits, fileporn, bitgamer, pussytorrents, torrentbytes, zamunda, thebox, uknova, cinemageddon

the site im now waiting to get in to is revtt and ive been promised an invite will be coming my way soon (from the guy who invited me to bitmetv so he knows im a good sharer), but he's not a power user there himself yet so doesnt have invites...

maybe one day i'll get ftn and sct, but im not really fussed if i dont, its enough work keeping up with my existing trackers and i dont feel im missing out on anything.

cheers

U1

In my experience not trading gets you everything you want. Get into Oink and get a healthy buffer there, invite thread there is a good starting point. I got all the high level sites I want just from friends I made.

I mean sites like TT, FTN, E**** and FSC, just so there is no mistake in which is better. Back in May I had none of those high level sites. Also the friends you make online through not trading are in many cases worth more than some high level site.

Use the same name on all sites and don't trade. Never use the same name on anything considered a trading forum, because some tracker staff are just idiots, which e.g. banned me from x264 just for being a member at FST. The admin there even said quit FST and I invite you again. I off course said no, since no powerwhore of a tracker admin is gonna tell me where or not I can be a member + I have met lots of cool people there. Many people have tried similar stuff. Some admins don't care whether you trade or not, just being a member is enough to get you banned.

Help end world hunger and improve your English language skills at the same time. Did I mention it was free :)

thelastfreeman,

Thank you very much for the great information. I just joined this forum to post in this thread. As you may guess I have no access to any private tracker sites. Once I get the invitation to SITR, I may be able to start getting more later hopefully. Thank you in advance for your invitation to SITR.
