Emule VS Edonky - November 19th, 2002, 03:46 PM

I normally have used mostly just winmx and sharaza. I wanted to try something different so I installed Emule. While it is very reliable and does get the files I want its much slower then winmx. Is this normal? Its not that I mind waiting or anything but if their is a way to speed it up I would like to know. Also is Edonky a better program then Emule (faster etc...)

Thanks for your help...

PS I have a high ID number... and one last question. Does Edonky have spy ware?

Everything donkey is pretty slow. But I like eMule's interface now that I tried it. Its much better. So if you wan't to use eDonkey's network, use eMule.

It USED to be decently fast. Not anymore.

Overnet is worse too. Not only is it slow while you use it. The incomming traffic will slow you for a week after you quit using it.
You are wrong. I can leave overnet running and still have 85% bandwith to run my webpage, and forum. And whatever else I want to do. Unlike Kazaa that uses 90% of your bandwith, is full of viruses and 33% of the files are fake.

Kazaa uses however much bandwidth i allow it to.

Unless you mean system resources. And in that case its only using 10-15%. And i'm a supernode too.

As for viruses. Only the stupid get viruses.

And fake files? Not a problem if you pick files with multiple sources. 40 people wont keep a fake copy of something sittin around. 1-5 people will.
sure, ok

Dealie? What is the point of saying kazaa has everything and is perfect if you know 33%of the files are fake? explain that one?
I use kazaa lite, same thing as kazaa but my point is No p2p is great!

"You are wrong"

When it comes to stuff like this no one is wrong.

"And fake files? Not a problem if you pick files with multiple sources. 40 people wont keep a fake copy of something sittin around. 1-5 people will."

Don't forget sig2dat. I do the majority of downloading from fasttrack with sig2dat. Its fasttrack the way it should be.

if you are looking for movies, software, and high quality ripped full albums I think eDonkey network is the best. Us ethe eMUle client and sharereactor.com links and you will fall in love. For mp3's, FastTrack is still the most efficient.
