What's the best flash drive MP3 Player?? - June 17th, 2007, 06:31 PM

I want a small car Mp3 player to use on trips. I want to be able to transmit my music on the player to the car Am/fm radio and listen to my music as we travel on trips. What MP3 players have fm transmitters and receivers?? Are the Transmitters an extra hardware to add to the MP3 players?? Appreciate any and all Posts.

I have an iAudio G3 2GB flash mp3 player. Doesn't have radio transmission but I don't know of any flash mp3 players that do. It has FM reception and record, line in record, EQ, and other stuff found normally in other mp3 players. What I like most is it uses regular AA batteries which last a long time, but can use rechargeable AA which last like 20 hours I think. Its good to take on trips.

A mp3 player has to have a transmitter in order to transmit the music to an external audio source. I don't know if the source you want to listen the music onto has to be mp3 compatible, though. You’re obviously an mp3 flash-fanatic like me and a lot of people, but u didn't mention the price range you’re looking for. You may check out http://www.goliathbargains.com It has car Mp3 player featuring FM recording; tuner, voice recording and such. They should definitely satisfy you, as my iRiver did. And the price should be good too.
Hope I’ve helped.

Well, first of all I will ask a few questions, this will allow me to give you better advice. Then just in case I do not see this thread again I will post the advice I can currently give you.

First of all, is it 100% necessary to have a separate mp3 player? The reason I ask is that for about 100$ you can get a car stereo that can handle sd cards as well as mp3 cds. This could make your car have its own mp3 capabilities which sounds like what you want to use your mp3 player for anyway.

http://www.bestbuy.com/olspage.jsp?i...&type=category

Now if you don't have a factory stereo you may have an input in the back of your car stereo. If you did get a new stereo installed since you got your car can you post the model? That way I can check for you. If you do you wont need a Fm transmitter only a cheap cable.

Now if you still want to go the Fm transmitter + flash payer route you have allot of options. Basically any mp3 player can be adapted to a transmitter. These transmitters usually connect to the headphone jack and unless its specifically designed for a special player it should be compatible with any Mp3 players. These transmitters usually run anywhere from 20-70$. The big difference in the range is the build and sound quality. If your not picky on sound quality just buy a cheap one. Now for the players.

Ive done allot of research for non Ipod players. From what I have read Cowon's Iaudio's and the Sandisk players seemed to be the leaders. Iaudio's have been recognized for their superior sound quality and good quality build and I have not seen very many bad reviews for them. The same can be said for SanDisk but they have a few features that the others don't. The two main features that Sandisk carries that others don't are a replaceable battery and an expansion slot for microSd cards. So in the end they are both good and it comes down to preference, weight the features and make the decision for yourself.

Hope my advice helps, good hunting.

The cars stereo does not have to be mp3 compliant, its a Fm signal its just like tuning into a radio station.
