Azureus only downloads fast from 1 client?? - February 18th, 2007, 11:18 PM

Hi there. I'm a newbie with torrents, mostly because I found that it always takes too long to get anything through torrents. So I always used other applications. However I'm downloading a 6 gig torrent which can only be downloaded through a torrent client.

I'm using Azureus because it's the client that I have liked the most so far. Here is the deal. I ahve been downloading this file fro 3 days now and most of the time the computer has been on. I was getting very crappy speeds from 4KB/s to 40KB/s. Most of the time below 15KB/s.

At one point I had this 0 (7) Seeds and 15 (67) Peers. After reading this forum I changed my settings for max speed and configured encryption and I have got lucky because now one of the peers that showed up today is giving speeds of up to 200KB/s.

However all my speed comes from this espesific peer. Right now it shows that I have fully established connection with 10 peers and I seem to be downloading from 6 peers and this are the speeds. 125KB/s for 1, 1B/s from the second one, 2.4KB/s from the 3rd one and for the others not even 1KB/s. The other peers do not even start sending me anything. Like I said all my speed is from one peer only. Most of them have about 40-80% completion and 1 have 100%. I'm at 28%.

This is the current status for this torrent

1 (2) seeds and 11(52) peers.

My download as of right now is 40KB/s and upload is a steady 76KB/s

Most torrents have more peers than seeders, I would try to increase max. connections to peers per torrent & open more slots per torrent for peers. Play with your settings a bit, you may see a little difference otherwise since you're using encryption find a torrent with more peers!
